Rarely do they make stories where you can actually stand behind the story and say with confidence I approve this i.e. I would also date this mother. Girl seems loveable and nice chances are that she will say in the future "You are not my dad! So stop acting like one!" are almost 0. as for FMC.....She sounds beautiful and and nice, she didn't try to hook him and was actually self-conscious and understood that despite her being good looking, guys with serious intentions were avoiding her and only pick-up artists would go for her. I don't know about the real father but he didn't sound like a scum so raising his daughter isn't a problem since sadly for him he can't perform his task due to his death. What I hate in stories is when father is still alive and kicking, there are many variables. For example step-daughter still likes her real dead or eventually grows to like him and be rebellious and condescending towards you with phrases like "You are not my real dad and etc.". Or wife after a while getting back with her ex when they mature a bit. Generally speaking it's unlikely to happen but IT DOES HAPPEN. For example re-kindling of the old feelings especially if the guy was her first love and they split due to being immature but he still had all the features she liked as a woman not a mother. FYI there is a difference when woman loves you as a woman and as a mother.
