love this! I have been Buffalo garbage for a few decades and feel like Roach is a great representative for our dirty little city. Wish he would have touched on Genessee beer, prescription pills, government assistance, Xmas gifts on layaway at Hills, bowling leagues, garbage picking / flea markets, and 4am last calls at dirty dive bars... For the record, "pizza logs" are basically (deep fried) egg rolls with cheese, pepperoni, and lava hot pizza sauce. Not sure if it's a Buffalo thing, but St. Patricks day and Dingus day are fun traditions we have where the entire city gets black out drunk and fights

I almost fell our of my chair when Josh mentioned his dad's bar in the New Kensington, PA hotel. My football team had the end of year banquet there multiple times. New Kensington is an old industry town up the river from Pittsburgh proper. Lots of closed up factories and warehouses, boarded up houses, drugs, and violent crime. I bought a house outside new Ken when everything crashed in 2020 because it was so cheap for a decent fixer upper house.

Apparently I have a lot in common with Mr. Potter. My mom was kissed by the Marineland whale. My dad owned a few hilarious atupid businesses like a gas station in the middle of nowhere near swamplands. He had an Astro van filled halfway up with tools, locks (locksmith) and empty Tim Hortons cups. My mom hated when he drove me anywhere cuz if anyone had ran into the Astro van it would've essentially transformed into a nail bomb.

Fat kid from Michigan here. Also grew up garbage. Let's talk hot dogs. Diners here are all about the chili or coney dog. Flint style is a hot dog topped with chopped ground beef mustard onion. Its a dry dog. Some say its not really ground beef but its actually chopped hot dogs. Detroit Style is a hotdog with a wet chili sauce, very messy, with mustard and onion. I believe the slime dogs would be like a Detroit Style. Both are really good. If your eating at home you usually go Detroit style bc its as easy as boiling a few dogs and warming up a can of chili.

Shout out to pizza rolls! foley would love em. They are these little egg rolls with cheese pepperoni and sometimes sauce on the inside, or sauce as a dip. almost the same size as an egg roll, maybe a little thinner Wegmans sells em for a little more than a $1 each in their ready to eat meals They sell a box in the freezer section and its a 10 pack for $10 but its some random brand.

Oh man, I worked at a pizza/Italian restaurant in Las Vegas and the owner was from Buffalo. He had chicken finger subs that were awesome. Chicken fingers dipped in wing sauce toasted with mozz on top or a chicken finger with chicken and turkey deli meat with dressing and peppercini. Also the best pizza and wings and we made the blue cheese dressing in the restaurant.
