Great comparison - thanks! I - have both and I prefer Odin's formfactor and design - but I only use my XP Plus since Odin Pro felt sluggish right from the start :| After testing I found that Odin has well over 100 ms latency - it was confirmed by another guy who tested. I made a video (on my Retro Joysticks channel) with my touch latency comparison. Will compare button latency too. My old Anbernic reacts faster than both XP and especially Odin!

Honestly I think the ayn is better for a multitude of reasons. Even if the gpd is slightly more powerful. The biggest factor Ayn has in its favorite is cooling. But not only that, they understand what their user base wants.

If the Ayn Odin had a Snapdragon processor closer to the GPD XP+'s (even with a price increase), I think I would've preferred the form factor with the 'set in' analog sticks However! I'd rather have something that I don't have to think about too much, regarding setting tweaks for higher end emulation, and I hope GPD XP+ sales push other companies to make more products in that direction

I own both of these devices. But the GPDx plus is so awesome! I purchase 4 more. Because after it's off of Indigogo the price is going to be so high and the shipping is going to be ridiculous. I use it as my daily phone it's fantastic.

@@DavidFilskov yes it's 5 now! I know it sounds crazy to buy five but hear me out. Most phones nowadays don't give you an SD card slot. And when they do you have to pay upwards close to $1,800 or higher! So basically for the price of one phone I now have four. My girlfriend noticed I love them so much she got me another one. I bought a carrying case and I have two Bluetooth headsets.

Hi there! I was wondering if the GPD XP+ ships right away from IndieGogo after ordering? Or if its a pre-order period where they are slowly fulfilling orders and shipping them out over several months similar to the AYN Odin situation. Great video and thanks for the comparison. Question on the screens. Are you able to test to see if the either device use pwm(pulse width modulation) for screen dimming? How to test would be record both screens with a cellphone in slow motion and see if either of them flicker in the playback. That would be helpful for those of us considering both devices and sensitive to pwm flicker. Thanks!

I just tried that with both screens. I get no flicker on either screen, however keep in mind that the Ayn Odin has 3 different screens depending on when you ordered your device. The XP+ will have the same screen in all models.

Does odin has rumble/vibration while playing emulater or steamlink? because My gpd xp+ don't support any rumble.

Unfortunately, every emulator and streaming application is different when it comes to rumble support. I haven't tested either of these devices for rumble compatibility. I'll see if I can experiment a bit.

@@Arcade1983 I would be grateful if you could give me the answer. I used to play with a tablet and a gamepad before I bought the GPD xp+. But I can't find a way to solve this "rumble" problem on GPD xp+. After your preview video. I find out the Odin has a better screen ratio and button position. I wonder if the Odin is better or not. By the way, the theme is awesome.

There is two kinds of the GPD XP+ Design. One with Fan's hole on the back and the other is not.

To anyone thinking about getting an odin or loki....dont!!!`ayn just screwed me over bad. Customer service is horrible and rude. Can't keep shipping dates because there only putting out 50 to zero a day. Take my advice and stay away from AYN!!!!!!

How exactly did they screw you over? I got my Odin Pro and its awesome. Had an issue with one of the analog sticks and they sent me a replacement.

@@pjp9840 they cancel my order , they ended up saying they misunderstood me....they ended up making it right...I reordered and they moved up my shipping. What I said about them taking forever to ship...that is no lie. They only put out 50 a day or sometimes none at all. They don't have the staff or there not willing to commit to there product and customers.

GPD XP is a piece of junk. mine fell from less than 1 meter height and spewed the R2 button and left side Analog controller. How to play racing games now. I contacted GPD in China where I lived and they couldn't help me to repair it, gave me lots of wrong phone numbers. Last time I buy something from GPD.

That sounds like a terrible experience. It’s awful to have a product unsupported by the company who makes it. I’ve had great luck with GPD products so I’ve never had to request repairs.

@@rhampton1914 I have the plus and it’s my most often used device even though I have had a steam Deck and an Ayn Odin Pro. The performance can’t be beat, this thing is a powerhouse.

@@Arcade1983 unfortunately I couldn't keep my steam day and have the XP plus. So I just sold my steamed egg yesterday and I got the XP Plus used and I should be getting it in the mail Saturday. The only thing I didn't like was is it really small is it a lot smaller than the steam deck I like the hunky size of the steam day is this XP plus a lot smaller I'm getting the 256 GB version. And I'm just a little bit nervous because I didn't want nothing too tiny lol
