Stripped of axe and faith, alone I’ll climb. (Altorr, The Sorcerer) ~ “There!” The summit holds a truth that I must see. (Altorr) ~ “Then you will travel to the greatest peak, Eluvimal. On arrival, you will wish that you had not.” I reach the entrance to my way of ascent and there stands the old one with a final plea. (Altorr) ~ “There is peril and temptation above…” Quiet! The summit is my fate and I will see. (Altorr) ~ “Then you will revel. In her flesh you’ll find delirium. Though not a devil, she protects the ones you seek.” I wake to thunder, a crack in the sky. Like a hammer fall the rains. A warning of the gods not to approach. But my will is power, and their works are in vain. It’s been days of not but snow and wind, I sense a movement in the caves. The warning from below comes back to me. (Altorr) ~ “…and beware, the unfallen slain!” At once, in battle with the vile guards of the hall. Tearing at me through mist and fog. Their blood will make rivers! But soon too many will come. No choice but to fight. The horn calls. I rip their flesh, their bones are crushed in my hand. Bodies mount, then a cry begs me (Taras, The Witch) ~ “Stop!” Then she appears, the one I’m warned to fear. Lustful creature, come to tempt me! But I am close, the hall is near, I see it’s light. They wait above, I’m the first to reach their height. But spent and worn I’ll stay and rest the night. (Taras) ~ “Then, follow…” Start my climb after the strangest of dreams, my weary body at the door of the hall. A darkened figure approaches me… Part Four: Join The Wind A cruel wind is howling my name. The ceaseless gale, it follows me. I enter now, lead inside. The sacred oaks will cover me. (Altorr, The Sorcerer) ~ “The soil beckons for all. The wind sends only for those designed, begin!” An elder law is driving my will. The forest’s hands are clawing me. Unfailing time, my birthright. Once stones arranged, now fallen arcs. Before my eyes, the wind takes form. Wraithlike. And with it followed the horde. (Altorr) ~ “The soil beckons for all. The wind sends only for those designed, begin!” A foul wind has followed my path. The poisoned air is stalking me. On nameless ground I will lie. The gathered dust will cover me.
