I'm a new sub to this channel as of today. I found it 2 days ago with the itty bitty build. Ive been binge watching ever since. This guy is a gem and the world needs more like him. The way he treats and includes Davy Gravy in the videos is what sealed the deal for me. I have a sister with cerebral palsy, our mom died when we were young. I took guardianship over her and have always made sure to include her in everything. Doctors told mom she would never even walk. She not only walks and talks perfectly, she thrives. I built her a full house that connects to my main house. She has her own bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom. She can come hang out with me by opening one door. She's the best aunt and sweetest most genuine person I know. Ive seen alot of me in watching Ayo help Davy. Just a super cool dude and I appreciate people like him. Much love bro.

My kids went on the Outward Bound program way back when, I wanted them to learn survival skills and I must tell you that it was the most valuable outlay financially that I ever made. My kids are now 49 and 51 and as survival skills teach how to survive in any environment including work family and so much more I am so glad that they got the concept of survival. My daughter has been a firefighter for 23 years, my son is a "mad men" type advertising person and successfully so. I like what you do, and I hope you keep going. I see you having a good time and that will be inspiring to young people who spend way too much time on the internet and perhaps not enough time in the hands on world. Let it be guys, keep being yourselves and continue to mentor. You will reach some, hard to imagine how many but you will make a difference. Love.

I'm glad you finally made one with the barrels. When my ex and I lived in GTMO, we had a barrel boat made from the 55 gal metal drums soldered together. We had metal railings, a covered roof, and a little space on the side with a door for the toilet seat on a box. Felt crazy being able to see the water below, under the seat. We'd take the kids fishing on the ocean on weekends, and many times he'd go fishing and diving with buddies and bring home tons of 🐟 and 🦞 . Fun times. One thing you could do is fill the barrels with that spray foam stuff and you'll never sink.😊

Looking forward to part two guys, but I can't help feeling you'd be safer with an extra drum at each corner for better buoyancy 😉

It's amazing. As people we spend years restoring a factory build boat. Every step of the way is overly complicated and expensive. Yet, in two days we can build a brand new one twice the size. All while using common materials. You should add some windows and siding on it. This thing is legit!
@ryanfester2824 Жыл бұрын
@AYO Fishing Hey, just a suggestion for future builds but you could of totally gotten that damaged piece of plywood at 6:45 discounted at like 70-90% off, they usually end up in the scrap bin with purple spray paint on it, probably just have to talk to an associate in Lumber or ask the cashier when you ring up. I used to work at Homedepot years ago! Figured every cent counts.

I love your raft you are going to paint it right. I think camouflage would be perfect for your exterior painting of the craft. If you use the barrels to create a couch on the first floor. Build a box around two barrels that could be your couch bass put a little foam on it got a place to sit you’re gonna have to carry your own water. And the bathroom could be basically just a tiny cabinet with a 5 gallon bucket underneath it and then just put a top on it where you lift it off and you got your toilet. Good luck, I can’t wait to see the next build. I can’t wait for the well. I can’t wait but I’m really looking forward to the finishing of your raft. I

Awesome footage, as usual. Got one question though, why not use some sort of stabilizers, on each side? Four barrels, connected with main deck with solid planks. Times four. On a plane of cross. You'd get extra four fishing decks. And close to zero maneuverability but it would be stable that way 😅

If you put 2x4s at 45deg angles in the inside corners it'll make everything much more rigid. I think there are metal "T" shaped braces you can get that you just cut a line with a circular saw and pound it in then nail for the same purpose. Just looked it up; Simpson T-Shaped Wall Bracing.

You may have overlooked something. I built a Barrel Barg two years ago during Covid. Later in the year when the temps start to drop, these barrels will collapse if precautions are not taken. I found that the simplest thing to do is to just simply drill a 1/4 inch hole in the top side of each barrel. This way, the pressure on the inside will equalize with the outside pressure.
