There are 100s of places mentioned in Ramayanam, all of them are in current India, the animals and landmarks everything is there in current India. Thailand, Indonesia and other Asian countries might be ruled by Indian kings, so they spread their cultural heritage there. 2-3 ancient sites don't make Whole Ramayan happened in Thailand. Come to India you can see places of every move of Lord Ram here that is mentioned in Valmiki Ramayanam.

I have been to Ayutthaya. Took a train from Bangkok. The place was burnt to the ground by the Burmese as Ayuthaya was the richest city during that time period with merchants coming from all over the world. Ayutthaya was mostly built with wood so it was easy to burn it down.

Main stream history said, Burmese burnt the temples. Burmese are and were Buddhists too. They don't burn down temples. It was done by western Khazarians who were salivated by the sight of the gold. They knew that the Burmese were coming and the left the city but came back to loot the treasures . It was a proxy war. The East Hindia Company had many attempts to break Ayutthaya power. Siam Anglo war, Singgora war, Makassar (Actually Bugis) Revolt, Siam Rovolt and finally the Kaunbang proxy war. Burmese still are worshipping at the Mahamuni temple built by their enemy king of Rakhine.

When I was young, me and my dad would go into an abandoned mansion of Kellis Castle to explore before it became a tourist spot. It was so fun discovering the cellars and tunnels in the basement. Hi Praveen anna, wonderful job as usual👏. My guess is, there might have been an hundiyal with more segregation, where the Lord Rama/Buddha statue was placed. The hundiyal might have had more than one input chambers, like if you're offering gold put it here, if you're offering money put it here and each such segregation might lead to the different levels of underground chamber making it easy for collecting the offerings and processing it further
