My sister Sheela Munoli is 76 years and resident of Belagavi. She is having 70+ Ayushman card introduced by the Central Government. Recently she had to under go surgery in Bangalore. Though Fortis, Manipal, Apollo are in the list of approved Hospitals, when approached, they refused to admit and conduct surgery saying they are not empanelled. The facility of cashless hospitalisation is not available. Ultimately my sister had to undergo surgery in private hospital by paying the bill. Will you kindly enlighten on the conduct of ghe approved Hospitals?

I am originally from Kolkata but currently staying in Bangalore and got the card done at Bangalore. But the Karnataka Government has not approved the scheme as yet and because of that one guy suffering from cancer committed suicide as the concerned hospital refused to accept the card. To my opinion, the scheme will work only if the central government bears the entire cost of treatment i,e up to five lakhs instead of sixty percent. Excepting BJP ruled states, no other state government will bear forty percent of the cost of treatment. Central Government should sincerely think on this aspect.
