Kiryu has always been my favorite incarnation of Mechagodzilla. Design-wise he is a perfect blend of both the Showa and Heisei designs and his theme is one of my favorite scores in the entire franchise. I wish we got to see more of his character beyond the two films he is in, as unlike other versions of Mecha-G, he got a character arc and was more than a machine built to fight Godzilla.

Heisei one is much more soulless than the millennial one. Kiryu would care for the pilots and for humanity even if it's Godzilla's consciousness that speaks for him. The Heisei one was just beam and shoot. Heisei mecha is more mechanical because it is taken from mecha king Ghidorah who lacks emotions while the millennium one is more human because it is taken from Godzilla and has emotions running wild. And in the end heisei mecha fails to do its job while millennium knocks Godzilla twice and stands victories in both movies. So you should switch the tagline you have given for mechagodzilla of each era.

Monsterverse mecha is actually heisei's mecha but done much worse. The fact that MV's mecha has a 6 minutes screentime and it is used in the movie to spoonfeed king kong's character ego pissed me off. Apart from his mechanical laugh there is nothing interesting. Neither there is proper build up or foreshadowing nor an actual sense of threat. And the characters are worrying for goji and kong despite knowing the world might actually feel relieved having both died. The thing that kiryu differs much from MV's mecha is simply presentation. Kiryu is shown to be humanity's best weapon and the last hope, so kiryu fights to save the citizens and the future of japan and the world, and he understands why he is created despite dying by the hands of humanity and makes sure to protect them. And then you have MV's mecha is just a dog unleashed by an arrogant rich guy for his entertainment and is silenced immediately. Mechagodzilla in kong vs Godzilla is the main reason why I hate the movie and it nearly killed my interest in Godzilla's franchise and I was still new to it.
