I can remember a day when I started trucking, I would’ve backed in 20ft from the dock and started breaking down pallets, and throwing the boxes in front of the door. You ordered a delivery, here it is, you can receive it the easy way, or the hard way. But you’re gonna receive it TODAY!

I started running reefer in the late 70’s. For a couple years I didn’t exactly get rich. Then in the early 80’s, I knew a guy, that knew a guy at a major chemical manufacturer. All the sudden I had great paying loads, and more work than I could handle. It was a good hit to say the least, and carried me well into the 90’s.

Two main rules with a reefer ... always, always, always fill up the reefer fuel tank at every fuel stop, and adjust your rear-view so you can easily see the lights on the reefer unit, and watch it like a hawk. That being said, this is a typical day in the reefer world. The worst receivers, the worst brokers, and every single load will cost you something ... between time, lumpers, and "shortages" it will always cost you something. Now you know why a lot of us told you to avoid reefer like the plague 😂
