It's a authoritarian dictatorship that goes way too privately into their citizens ans anyone other then Han Chinese just like nazi Germany, add their disgusting human right abuses like the rape and forced brainwashing concentration camps of Muslims that they invaded back in 40s 50s Now imagine being a Asian country dealing with em or being abused pacific nation like Australia NZ and poorer Island nations. I'm not surprised from what his been saying This is why We need to deal with China Russia Iran NK first before dealing with congress parliament and big Ben or else they'll use the left and right to cripple us before they take over

Also it saddens Me that China is so abused amd used and polluted and pisened by the current regime, I feel bad for those who actually care and want freedom and have China at a respectable population and not overgrown like India As a Aussie and with 26 Mil population, when China India gets too overpopulated it affects everyone and the risks of diseases viruses and shit as well as food shortages and energy and resource shortages doesn't help smaller country's to grow It sounds wrong but when shit hit the fans ut doesn't go well for everybody, The moon and Mars ain't fully terraformed and colonised so We don't have a second chance This is why populations need to be limited and spread out so a rock doesn't take half of humanity with it, there's like 3 billion that would die if 2 rocks hit China India so try minus that from the world It doesn't sound a great way to go out and seeing family and things that make a Indian in Australia Indian as their culture history politics food music etc If you understand My POV and see the reasons I'm concerned with India and China being so overpopulated and not letting other poorer countries can't grow population because of others taking more space in the train that has limited space

@@Azeal Oh that's correct I happen to know how that works. Basically in China there's this legal representative who will be sued and jailed if the company does something VERY wrong, and everyone else in the company can get away with anything as long as he pins it on the company. And then ofc you will see companies hiring legal representatives, weirdly doesn't need ANY working experiences and pay a pretty high salary....and everyone knows exactly what's the actual job requirement.

Theres a lot of terrible things going on in China. The rich/politicians kidnap younger people and take their organs. Every old Chinese politician has basically had an organ transplant, some even bragged about their "young spirit. Throw in fake COVID positive test status lit up on Chinese people trying to flee China during increasing lockdowns, genocide of Uyghurs, social credit scores and their overreaching undercover police stations found in foreign countries under Operation Fox Hunt....the Chinese govt is horrifying.

A couple notes, their are two types of educational path a kid can take. 1: Domestic 2: International If you chose the first path you will have the most competitive experience you can imagine, you will study when you sleep. Or 2: International Which is the path I took, pretty much an more expensive alternative that gives you a normal primary to high school experience since you’ll apply internationally. Hence my sexy English fluency. It’s not all competitive, but most are. *Wrote more information in the comments.

Thirdly, yes, a lot of Japanese racism are targeted. That is a fact, there are even slurs invented to call Japanese, “Japanese terrorist.” A lot of shows are made where the Japanese are antagonists. The reason goes back pretty far to ww2 and the Japanese expansion, a lot of people died from Japan’s invasion, such as the Rape of NanJing. We didn’t have the force at the time to defend ourselves and no other country tried to help us. So a lot of resentment still carries on to this day.

The best way to describe how china is A Giant Contradiction. But in a bad way. My family has had Chinese exchange students before. They had a two week special programs for it. they go to homes in pairs, and have a firm scedual. It was verry interested talking to them. We mostly talked to the girl pair we had. It was verry bazare hearing how they were in college, and how they got there. Like one had the major she wanted because she was lucky enough to get out into it. Wile the other wanted to go to this other major but wasn’t put in. By the way they described it, it sounded more random versus being a “best fit” or didn’t make it kind of thing. They were content about it tho… or at least kept the face up for that. It was also interesting hearing how they didn’t really have family dinners as a way to be a family, just kinda how it was. This was years ago so my memory is a little hazy, it had somthing mentioned on how they wouldn’t really go back home and prepare or have dinner with the family as a familial thing. It was certainly interesting… As for all countries with intense governments, love the people, don’t love the government. :D

Hey, by the way, if this person has Chinese parents or grandparents, around the world China is apparently setting up these secret police kind of locations, that act as police outside of China, and if you say anything bad about the government outside of China, they'll commit to beating the shit out of you under the guise of a job interview or a social check-up or something, it's been happening in Europe for some 6 months now and they only do it if they see you as "Chinese", meaning if your parents or grandparents are such, they still see you as part of the Empire. Also not many people know, but in Japan the court system is even much worse than this, 99% of the time you end up in jail, it's not even worth fighting the legal fight. Another thing that's not well-explained a lot of the time is why the Chinese haven't let go of the thing with Japan, Japan never apologized for their war crimes in China, nor for invading it. They just pretended everything was okay because they lost the war. Likewise, the Chinese government has, in the last decades, emphasized Nationalistic and escalatory rethoric towards Taiwan, as a way to get people riled up and that has the consequence of also galvanizing them against Japan for obvious reasons. Also galvanizes them against "Western" countries, the Empires of old, because of the whole situation with the Opium crisis and the century of humiliation as they call it. It's much easier to control a nation when you have these kinds of petty squabbles, people you can point to outside and inside your society who are "attacking" it. Those are just my thoughts as I listened

So, as an ABC (american born chinese) who is semi informed about china due to my parents being 1st generation chinese parents, i'd like to comment a few things. please keep in mind that things may become opinionated and i don't know everything, just merely my perspective and ideas of china. 1:24 From the department of state .gov: "Entry, Exit and Visa Requirements. Entry & Exit: Obtain a visa prior to arrival and have a passport with at least six months' validity remaining. The lack of either will result in a fine and immediate deportation." As for foreigner residency, I don't know the legal requirements. 2:13 I don't know the extent of how the camps worked and how bad it was, but I know that the police were VERY aggressive with people who would try to rebel and try to run. granted i doubt they were allowed to use firearms to subdue, but there is definitely video footage of mistreatment. 3:20 Was not aware of this health record requirement! wow this is new information to me. 5:08 most of my relatives reside in Shanghai, so i'm going to specify how the situation was there. there was a lot of food shortage because people kept hoarding food in fear of starvation if they couldn't go out of their apartment. it was brutal for people there. online shopping would often sell out within MINUTES if you weren't fast enough to press pay at shopping cart. my mother would often help family and friends stuck in china and try to "steal groceries" (it became such a massive thing as well, it became a semi-meme, but it was also very real and people were starving) 6:32/8:10 This is very insightful inside information for me, didn't know this stuff previously 9:05 THIS. this is literally the NUMBER ONE pro and con to the hyper-tracking they do. no privacy, but noone can get away with anything. 10:35 the government is highly restrictive and heavily monitors what kind of information can be on the public internet that is accessible (in china), and /will/ hide certain information, as said, tiananmen was the reason for restricting google. for the tiananmen square massacre, it was mainly led by students and workers to protest the government, and the military had brought out tanks to subdue their protests. many many innocent standby civilians were killed. 14:45 Elementary K-6, Middle 7-9, High 10-12, then college. Failure is never an option for chinese kids, and education is considered extremely important. it is indeed HIGHLY competitive, and as mentioned, your placement is publicly posted and seen by all of the other kids in the class. "grades" in terms of ABCs is not the grading system. it's just however many points you get out of whatever (probably 100). there is no such thing as participation points: your score is entirely dependent on 2 or 1 school tests (midterms/finals), or your placement/entrance exam. the high school entrance exams and college entrance exams are incredibly reputable, and will absolutely determine what education you will get in the future, and sometimes your ENTIRE future if you do poorly. it's why you often hear of asian parent stereotypes that force children to do all the hardest classes and do a bunch of extra-curriculars. 20:50 half true. speaking is the exact same, but writing "he/she" gendered. 他 is "he" and 她 is "she." and correct me if wrong if people know this, but i was told that the female ta was only implemented after american influences. also, the female ta is used in similar... grammar? as like, spanish. a group of females you'd call chicas, but the moment a single male is in the group, it becomes chicos. again, this only goes for writing, since the pronunciation is the exact same when speaking. 22:07 "written" is only in terms of romanization. ā á ǎ à are the 4 tones, and each combination of "consonant and vowels" may also have multiple options to choose from and have different meanings. ie chǎo can be 吵 (loud, noisy) or 炒 (to cook) 23:25 The idea that the Chinese hate the Japanese is ABSOLUTELY because of national pride. My late grandfather hated the Japanese, absolute LOATHED them. the ironic part is that his son (my uncle. my dad moved to the us) moved to japan, as well as a number of other relatives from grandma's family tree. I wasn't old enough to know him personally, but the national pride is VERY strong. also a lot of the reason why there is "china is the best" kind of propaganda-ish ideas. 23:41 Genuinely didn't know this! That's interesting 24:41 personal example, had a family friend start questioning the government's motivations like a year after COVID hit. the poor treatment, over-management, and military fear was getting worse and it was concerning. 26:11 rural areas/smaller cities very hard to live through. i'm forgetting the exact term, but i think translated they're called house nails. due to china's rapid rebuilding and making things more modern, a lot of older buildings and apartments were getting demolished, people were given a few weeks notice to move out before they tore everything down. some people stayed in their apartments and refused to move, hence being "house nails" because the people, and their living place, were nailed to the ground. 27:49 yep! they also have rentable portable charger stations in case your phone battery gets low, which is really really convenient haha. that's one of the main things i'm hoping america can implement in bigger cities. 31:11 I also want to inform: during the lockdown period, flights were often cancelled, sometimes getting cancelled for multiple days at a time to the point that some people were forced to live at the airport for quite a few days until they could get on a plane, more particularly for the big cities. final thoughts? yeah this is a pretty accurate video. as azeal said at 23:03, that's pretty much china. refute me if i mentioned anything wrong! i'm open to learning as much as i can.

Chinese learner here! Chinese is such an interesting language, but just wanted to make a slight clarification. Technically speaking…there are gendered pronouns in some instances. In the instance he provided, saying “he/she/they is/are good at writing” or something along those lines like that is pronounced the same way (“ta”). However in writing, there are technically gendered versions of that character (他/male or neutral, 她/female). There’s also pronouns in the sense of saying boy or girl in a noun sense (男/nan/boy, 女/nü/girl), though these are used very rarely in my experience. He is right thought that gender in terms of pronoun use comes up very little functionally! Still based language :) Hopefully this makes sense, chinese is a weird but cool language to know sometimes
