What Does a Luxurious Bus Conversion Look Like Before the RV Conversion?

While working at Sewell Motorcoach in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, a brnad new 2024 Prevost H3 bus shell drove into the dealership. Its destination was a paint and body shop close to the dealership and was just stopping for a few minutes. I was able to get permission to take a look inside and around it very quickly to share what is a very rare sight for me. The vehicle is really a modified transportation bus, that has been ordered by a "Bus Converter" with slide outs in it, but otherwise it is an empty "shell." The converter will add all the interior finishes, mechanical systems, and home furnishings to make it a $2.5 million bus conversion when it's done.
Seeing the bus naked, really shows how much more impressive the buses are when compared to a normal RV, as rather than being a foam box on a ladder frame rail, the bus shel has integrated stainless steel framing to construct the box and to be part of the frame itself.

That is a beautiful coach. Prevost does built some nice buses. The Detroit Series 60 12.7 liter has been out of production for about twenty years. They did the 14 liter EGR and then moved on to the DD 13,15&16. Thanks for sharing.

The converter is Loki Coach. VERY luxury coaches. They have a channel, and they are very modern, I love the wood finishes on them, plus the LEDs.

I'm sure that since this coach is in Kentucky, it's headed up to Dean Loucks paint shop in Indiana. All of the converters build some great coaches but, no one, and I mean, absolutely no one builds a great coach like Liberty Coach. I cannot wait for my winning lottery ticket to hit!

Interesting, I grew up seeing the British Leyland tigers, MAN SL’s and the Mercedes 0303’s (with locally produced bodies) getting worked on and they are constructed very similar to the ones here in the states. I have seen the MAN bus factory In Germany and about 1/2 of the frames are built by robots.

Odd this 2024 didn't have the new Prevost video front mirrors........ I think its' an option I can remember just a couple of years ago a Prevost "shell" was only $600K .

As a DIYer this has allready proven usefull as I am a new owner of a 2001 Fleetwood Expedition. So many little projects. The fiberglass front nose/bumper has a few metal braces broken loose. The drivers seat is a temporary item. It is sent back to Prevost after the interior is built out by the coach mfg.

There are a few bus manufacturers but few that work directly with converters and the buses unlike motorhomes have high safety standards for collision and occupants survival
