why doesn't the bank do a better job recognizing the check as fake before authorizing it? Seems like the bank is conspiring with this scam.
@valuecalc2 жыл бұрын
Correct, Atom. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised! What a bunch of dirtbags.
@almontoya57033 ай бұрын
They can't verify it on the spot. That's why there is a hold period until check is cleared. It's common sense as it's been like this for many many years
@sebastianliu20093 ай бұрын
I agree. Usually when I do a mobile deposit MORE THAN $500 only $200 is available for access. The remaining balance will be on hold until the bank confirm it is valid.

The bank can't verify the checks. Too many to begin with. It's your responsibility to call the issuing bank to verify it.

Same thing happen to this woman not to long ago, that she was laid off from her job due to covid 19, so she decided to find a work from home job, she found one and they "hired" her, and send her a check around the same amount, she cashed the check, and her money is gone. What "company" would hire you, then send you a check? BIG RED FLAG!!
@CognitoTanKhaiiHuitkh99172 жыл бұрын
How does cashing the check drained her money?
@franrc2652 жыл бұрын
@@CognitoTanKhaiiHuitkh9917 What happens is that as soon as she cashes the check, the scammers will tell her to send money from her bank account to their account. The check will then show as declined later on, so the scammer gets her money while she loses the money she sent to the scammer.
@gigizurpos96782 жыл бұрын
@@franrc265 did her account get banned . Once I deposited I knew it wasn’t right. I never touched the money it’s still pending. I have joint with my family I’m scared that they would be affected too

That's exactly why when I played with a scammer like that, I took all my money out of my account (I also needed to switch banks, so that was a plus). Idiots didn't realize I was playing with them until I exposed right to them that I knew lol

it oftens happened for the new college students. Not just that college, every colleges. My daughter and many of her friends are in UC (University of California) got the email. She almost fall into trap. They sent her check, but we didn't deposit it. College needs to let all the new students know / be aware of this type of scam.

Yeah... This is such an obvious scam that's been going on for years. Something is wrong if they send you a check for 3500 then asks you to forward some of that money to some bookstore. I guess the girl hasn't worked a job in her life or else she would've thought something was very off. This is not how a hiring process works.

Many banks hold checks for 2-5 days. In this case wait the whole five days. When they pressure you to send them money that's when the red flags go up high. But as a general rule you don't send jobs money nor do jobs send you no unless you do some sort of work first

Someone contacted me about some graphic design work, they tried to do the same to me. Profile pic was of a 60 year old white man ,but when I tried to call them through IG they immediately declined the call. IG allowed me to see, for a split second, who was on the end. Was a black man between 20-30 years old.
