I was in Washington state when they had the Quincy fire. It came up all the way up to the other side of the gravel road by the hills of my cousin's home. Talk about not being able to sleep for days as the fire crews told us to stand firm and that the road was going to have a heavy fire crew line set up to stop it there. Me and my cousins just said yeah right ... they had told us that the fire was not going to cross over the hills about 2 miles away when we could see a whole orange glow on the sky on the other side over the hills so we tried to sleep. Nuh uh... about 2:30 in the morning the fire jumped over towards our side and it felt like hell making its way over. The fire crews may have been wrong about it not crossing over the hills, but they sure stopped it from getting into my cousin's property of 80 acres. They were so professional words can't describe just how much and how close they went up to the flames they were a God send. And yes, we were never given an evacuation order at all because they chose to make that road a main battle line God bless them. Pray for all the fire fighters... Pray for the families ... Pray people.

I just wanna say that the fire road north of Capri is in disastrous condition. It has been crumbling for well over a decade there is somebody very high up in UCLA who lives right at the top before the fire road and he has blocked attempts to repair that road and make it safe for fire trucks for Over 15 years. I drive a Nissan Altima and I can barely get through traffic can only go one way at a time there’s a helicopter pad up there on the way to the Boyscouts camp, but that fire road is not usable because this one man who wants to keep people from hiking in this public land near his house, has opposed it every time it comes up and somebody should look into that.
