This looks awesome. Thanks for making high-quality vids for this niche group of keyboards, they are definitely my favorite type of keyboard. I only really like Topre and good low-profile switches, regular MX-style switches just aren't that satisfying to me.

Glad you like it! :) I too enjoy reviewing these specialty mech boards!

I get why people like full profile travel, but I’m with you. A lot of the time I like the shorter travel. Not so short as newer MacBook Pros (which are awful to type on), but something with a little more travel than the 3rd gen MacBook Pros or the MX Keys Mini would be perfect And having mechanical switches would throw it over the top Unfortunately all of these low profile mechanical “Mac” keyboards don’t actually use a proper Mac layout (the Vissles actually gets close), but the Keychron K3 (a “Mac-centered” keyboard), Azio Cascade, Mathias (not low profile, but Mac-centered), and Nuphy Air75 I just want my bottom modifier row to match Mac… not having a right option key (and the fn key in the proper place) is such an odd decision when they make the left option and control so wide for no reason and also try to capture the Mac market

Oddly, Mac membrane (?) Slim low profile keyboards get the layout right and proceed to not have functioning keys MX Keys Mini has a nonfunctioning fn key and backlight, and a bad media key row, Lenovo Trackpoint II isn’t technically Mac-compatible and has an awful media key row, Magic Keyboard has no backlight and bad travel Only Satechi Slim X1 has a proper Mac layout with a brightness media keys for the backlight, and unfortunately the travel matches the newer Mac keyboard (shit)

pls gods of keyboards make this keycap profile more mainstream so I can buy.

I believe this follows the same non sculpted design of the XDA keycap profile.

Mmm but XDA is a lot taller 🤔

Ordered mine few days ago! Can’t wait to get mine! Great review. I do hope the green button isn’t grey.

what's th point of hot swappable if you can't actually swap anything? You mention only keyacaps that come with this board will fit? is that correct?
@adequatequality2 жыл бұрын
I've never been a huge fan of low profile keyboards because the keycaps and switches they require are almost non existant from 3rd party sellers. But, good video regardless!

Yeah compatibility with low profile boards is hard...

Leaving aside the wireless connectivity that I don't care, how is the Air75 or the Aizo Cascade better quality?

Question: Do the Nuphy keycaps fit on the Cascade? From what you said about the stabilizers it sounds like they won't.
@minimalistik2 жыл бұрын
They would but not the stabilized keys, so yeah...

Are there any slim ISO keyboards on the market?

I need to know, are the keycaps between the cascade and the nuphy interchangeable???
@ChristopherLoverich2 жыл бұрын
They are not. I ordered a set of the cascade keycaps b/c I liked the looks, but the non-standard stabilizer he mentioned holds true, they don't quite fit on the Nuphy.

Good review but the sound is pretty scuffed. No way they can't make that better just because it's low profile

@@minimalistik wish I could find a mechanical keyboard with more space between the keys like on the 3rd gen MacBook Pro or the Keychron K3 (or so it appears) since I hit the corners of keys a lot, and the spacing of most mechanical keys makes me hit multiple keys. The Vissles looks like it might be good, but it doesn’t have switch options and isn’t fully released. I’m interested to see if this one has more feeling of space, but I’m not sure It sure is sleek though! Love the video quality!

That stabilizer shit is no bueno. I don't get why low profile keyboards use that nonsense.
