Aziraphale was so adorable in this scene. I don't own Good Omens -

Technically Crowley didn't lie here. He said he wants to destroy children JUST LIKE he destroyed the goats. And since he didn't really destroyed them...
@Yal_Rathol25 күн бұрын
i think the point is more that it doesn't matter. crowley could have lied, or not. he has that choice.

@@Yal_Ratholthe ability to lie is the ability of choice the ability of choice is free will and fallen angels or even demons maybe the closest to human incarnate when the concept of love or passion is introduced

The goat noise wasn’t an accident. Crowley didn’t want Az to be disappointed and repulsed. He NEEDED Az to know that he didn’t do it.

"Surely, the great thing about being a demon is you can do whatever you want." Interesting line, because it implies that at this point in history, Aziraphale has no real understanding of what being a demon actually entails or what kinds of horrible things could happen to Crowley if he was caught being kind.
@NerdyAngel198922 күн бұрын
I think that’s what drew Crowley to him at the start, he could see his innocence and kindness. To him here is what an Angel should be. So he decided to try and protect that innocence, it why his voice is always softer kinder even when angry and he is always finding ways to let him win while not getting into to much trouble himself. He easily gives in with asked to something, he wants Az to stay as pure and good as possible for as long as possible. He doesn’t want that ruined.

He says "May god forgive you" not "I forgive you" like usually, means that Azi has very strong boundaries and he cannot forgive everything. Interesting :)
@luisaveiga64411 ай бұрын
Uow! I was just noticing that and didn´t know what to think about it. You summorized perfectly! He could not forgive Crowley if he killed innocent children and that´s why he is so happy after he uncovers the truth: he was right. Crowley didn´t want to do that either.

It's also worth noting Crowley DIDN'T say he WANTED to. He tried, but changed it to he LONGED to.
@DeathnoteBB28 күн бұрын
My interpretation was he couldn’t accept he had it on God’s authority to do such a thing, so he rationalized it with “Surely God isn’t signing off on this, so clearly God is going to have to forgive you for this!”

One of my top 5 favorite scenes in Good Omens! The baby goats are adorable and Aziraphale's look of triumph is hilarious. I love that Crowley, even this early on, can't stand to hurt his angel.

One of my favorite scenes. There is an angry demon talking destruction and killing children, just inches away from Aziraphales face and he shows disappointment and sorrow but no fear whatsoever, never fear of Crowley. And the smug little hands on hips well well well. And the shit I’m caught look on Crowley face. Delightful interaction that leads to their first dinner date 🤭.

I think Crowley might have let him in on the secret on purpose because he couldn't stand Azi being disappointed. Earlier, when Crowley originally transformed them, they were cawing like normal crows.

I love how Crowley looked back at Aziraphale first when the birds(goats) starts to make sounds, like he wanted him to find out he didn't kill the goats but made them birds. Omg I just love them
@NerdyAngel198922 күн бұрын
He wanted the Angel to know you can so tell, honestly I think this was the real start of him doing things technically. He did exactly what he was told to do destroy the goats, he was never told how to go about it is all. He did it the way he did to cover himself and because his Angel asked him to.

This scene really hammers home that Crowley is good, empathetic, and compassionate. He tries to hide it all the time, but Aziraphale is never fooled.

Crowley likes kids (both human and goats) and animals in general. For a demon, he's not very demonic, despite what he says.

Crowley has a weakness for animals and children. It's one of the reasons he does not fit in well in hell. He has too much empathy, even though he will deny it.

What I love about this scene is that Crowley saves the goats and the children and it was mentioned that Aziraphale hasn't seen Crowley since the Flood. Aziraphale believes in Crowley because he remembers how horrified Crowley was by the fact that the flood would kill children. ...NOT THE KIDS. YOU CAN'T KILL KIDS!...This is the Crowley Aziraphale knows and trusts and can't believe that this kindness has died in him because back then Crowley said that a killing like that was something one would expect HIS LOT to do and yet Crowley is not like the rest of lot. He can't kill kids. AND...in the end Aziraphale is right to trust Crowley and to believe that time could not have changed that in him. And not to mention that during the flood not only humans died but also animals and Crowley here saves the goats too (there was once a unicorn you see he couldn't save....).
