I really enjoy your filming format. I always feel like I am experiencing the trail myself.

Wow, that is such a great compliment!! Thank you so much!! That is exactly what I'm hoping for when I edit these is that you get the sense that you're moving down the trail with me. Thanks for checking it out and the great message!!!!

@@somewhereonthetrail My husband and I totally agree with Christine. We watch hiking videos to see the hike and so many barely show bits and pieces of the trail with the focus on them even when walking. We enjoy seeing the person but we'd still rather feel like we are on the hike also and you do this very well.

@@truckingkaiseradventures1610 Thank you so much! I really love to hear feedback like this because I have been going out of my way to not be in the videos much so I can highlight the trail. I barely filmed myself on my recent Colorado Trail thru-hike and want to keep doing it that way in the future. Thanks for the great message!!!

Thank you for paying so much attention to making your campsites as indiscernible as possible from the surrounding area once you pack up in the morning.

You're welcome!! It ony takes a few minutes to try and make things look natural again and I want it to look like nobody has ever camped there. Thanks for noticing and commenting and thanks for checking out the video!!!

Just found your channel and have been enjoying your AZT series! Planned to do the AZT spring 2021, but family issues have made me push it back to spring 2022. Your videos are not helping me wait patiently 😃. Beautiful trail and you guys are making it look so fun.

Thanks so much for watching! I had to postpone as well, I originally was going to start on March 23rd but then everything hit so I put it off for 6 months and it was so difficult!!! People tried to warn me not to attempt a Sobo hike this year because they didn't get the normal rainfall but I'm so happy I decided to go ahead and do it in 2020. A little hard with the water carrying but still so worth it!!! Thanks Again!!!

What a beautiful trail this is. I love the format too. They're segments of a larger documentary film showing life on the Arizona trail. I'm really anxious for next week to get here to see some more. I just never imagined it would be like this. This trail far surpasses anything I've seen so far.

Thanks Ron, This is a magnificent trail, I was constantly blown away by the ever-changing terrain and beauty around every new corner. I picked this trail because I heard it was very diverse and wow did it live up to the hype!! Amazing from start to finish! Editing this longer format has been somewhat of a challenge but I'm getting used to it and feel like it's turning out fairly well. Thanks for checking it out!

I'm really liking this longer format and getting to see so much of the journey. This trail is so awesome and hearing your excitement and appreciation for the trail keeps it fresh and great to watch. The trail angels on the AZT do an outstanding job of keeping water out there. What a lifesaver those people are. I'm looking forward to seeing more Paul. Thanks and atb, Tony

Thanks Tony, editing this is like nothing I've ever done. This was slightly over 3 hours before I started whittling it down, crazy huh? Watching this back has been a wonderful reminder of how great this hike was for me, I really fell in love with Arizona!! The AZT trail angels were phenomenal from start to finish, they really made the hike so much better with all the public water they cached along the trail. If I ever get to live near a trail I hope I can do that for other hikers, it really makes a big difference. Thanks for checking it out!!!

Hope you enjoyed Flagstaff. I lived up there for 5 years working on Bachelor’s and Master’s at NAU. Don’t know if you checked out Peace Surplus? I love them. I learned how to use a “heel lock lace” technique to prevent my toes from hitting the front of my boot on long down hill hikes. Still purchased new boots there though, but with the heel lock, I really didn’t need to do that. Enjoying your videos and photography. 15 days to Flagstaff, 10 x 10, and 200 miles recorded in the log book. Awesome.

I did enjoy Flagstaff although we found it difficult to get around using Uber or Lyft. I should've gotten a bus pass right away and I think it would have been easier to get around town and certainly cheaper than all the taxis. I didn't have a chance to do much exploring here, I only went to REI to get some much-needed tent stakes and some socks but it seems like such a great area, insanely beautiful hiking in as well. Thanks for checking out this series, I appreciate you watching!!

This is a good trail for you to hike and film. I was just thinking your style of 'alone' would not work well on the AT. You are fortunate that can do these hikes and I really enjoy your style of presentation. The only minor negative, and I am stretching it, is same beautiful cloudless sky. LoL I need to go back watch your discussion on your build up to the Ozark Trail.

I love this trail so much, with the constantly changing terrain and great views it's hard to ever grow tired of this place. I don't think I would ever have the desire to do the AT, it's so crowded and pretty much a really long walk in the woods. I like the openness of the West and being abe to see far off in the distance, I prefer this landscape to just being in the forest for hundreds of miles. I always wanted to do the PCT but will probably have to do it in sections if I can do it at all. Thanks for checking it out!!! P.S. I'm sure there was a cloud or two in there somewhere 🙃

@@somewhereonthetrail Of all the states that I have traveled to Utah is the most exotic with the massive geology changes. I guess that it extends into northern Arizona. I have not had much of a chance to travel around the Grand Canyon but from your descriptions, it sounds like Utah. If you ever find the time I think the CDT would be the trail for you. I am glad I guessed the AT would be too crowded for you. I saw something the Ozark Trail Section Hikers and Backpackers group on Facebook that made me think of you. Someone was looking for input on people who have through hiked the trail(s) to assemble a 'travel guide' about them. If you want and 'if' I can find it again would you want me to forward the info to you?

@@DrsharpRothstein I haven't seen a lot of Utah but the things I have seen lead me to believe you're right, it seems incredibly scenic.. the first part of the AZT is pretty much Southern Utah so it was incredible just driving to the trailhead. My girlfriend drove back to Las Vegas after dropping me off and she said it was unbelievable driving through Utah. If you can find the thing about the travel guide I would be interested in that. I have made a couple videos on hiking those trails but it would be cool to have all the info in one place. Also, I have often thought the CDT would be the best trail for me since it's the least popular but I have always been drawn to the PCT for some reason, might have to do both!!
