@@sgtcockburn5824 fortunately, Impact Casing is *way* less critical on rockets than Spike is on GLs. It's something like a 10% increase to impact damage, which ends up being something less than 2.5% Whereas Spike Grenades can be closer to a 20% increase with the right setup.

I want to see another video just like this one but for Ros Arago iv. Rewind rounds/subsistence + onslaught with gyrfalcons. That gives you a 900 RPM auto rifle with volatile rounds that spawns void submunitions (from wild card) on kill, and void breaches + orbs that give devour. It CRANKS in pve and especially against overload champs this season with the overload auto rifle seasonal mod. Use with Levi’s breath for the Easiest/most fun hunter invis loop available.

@@wookieehairem2557 Still very good! Clown is just a very simple reload perk, helps in any engagement, and it'll be on par to better than envious assassin over a prolonged dmg phase. Like with everything, gotta use perks to see what you like and (nearly) everything has a level of viability to them.

Bungie will eventually patch Slideshot just like they'll patch Permeability. Slideshot isn't supposed to bypass a weapon's base RPM just like how Permeability isn't supposed to allow you to stack 7 Surge mods. So neither roll is very future-proof, but they're both niche and interesting for the near future, at least.

If u want something good RL, probably its time, last wish is currently in featured raid, you could farm the easiest boss in the game and u can also cheese boss, in 8 minutes, for chance single drop. Crux is not pratical to use for slideshot (in particular RL not good using slideshot because "your teammate sometimes standing in front of u while u shoot", "boss always move, slide aim is hard to do especially for console even i use pc i still struggle", "its world drop, its rng", and its not crafted weapon.

Are you serious about the test? There are so many unanswered questions and so many mistakes. The test shows what? You can empty the gun in 15 seconds and then what? What do you do in the next dps phase? Watch and do nothing? With the Apex Predator I shoot 4 times with Bipod, go to a Sniper or Fusion Rifle and keep pressing damage and that in all rounds, what do you do with your great Rocketlauncher? Stand in the corner and look for ammo?

Bipod is not just a meme though. I think youre overlooking the fact that it also gives you way more rockets in reserve AND it gives you way more rockets on brick pickup, so it has better sustain in activities. Its total damage is actually higher than a bait and switch roll at base, and the dps is actually very close, sometimes higher, depending on your mag perks. And the ease of use is much higher, just point and shoot your many rockets.

@@williamwolfe962all 7 rockets are BNS buffed. Add your reserve chest piece for 9 BNS buffed rockets. And yes I know the buff doesn’t show up til after your rocket hits a target but it has been tested with the pixel measurements of boss’s health that all shots with a BNS heavy weapon do in fact get the damage buff even if they don’t always show in the damage numbers at the wipe screen. Bait and switch absolutely outclasses bipod. The only place where it may be better is a day 1 raid where you just cannot afford to have other weapons focused on damage bc it’s so hard to live you need 2 other weapons oriented in keeping you alive and safe, other than that, it’s not top tier. Yay, I got Slideshot + Explosive Light very soon after it dropped. I thought it would be good but more of a meme weapon, glad to know it’s very strong. I also have Envious + B&S Cold Comfort and crafted Apex, now we need top tier Strand and Void rockets to replace Semiotician and Red Herring, complete the rocket rainbow. Nice to be able to double up on Surges Also, if you’re using rockets for swap DPS then I’d still say a reload perk like Envious or Reconstruction is the way to go, Slideshot is just for blowing your load all at once

Here's my thoughts on this, sliding in a well is a no go when it comes to dps phases. However if you're in a situation where you don't need to be in the team's well it would be best. Since radient is the same damage buff as well, all you need is to have radient to match the dps you would otherwise get if you weren't in a well. So think about it, solar hunter, use your super + super exotic, hotswap to fortracer, proc 7x surge and mag dump the rocket while having radient, bring out the merciless and then mag dump that with your 4x surge hopefully still active. If the damage phase is still on-going you can also hotswap to lucky pants and do some damage with warden's law. That seems like a solid damage rotation especially for solo content if you get some restoration going beforehand, full timer with restoration shouldn't run out until after you're done with the rocket and then you can easilly get a kill with merciless, tho probably still not good enough to beat strand titan lol. Edit: I just realized crux is arc not solar, so use arc weapons and arc subclass instead of solar.

They’re going to fix that foetracer permeability bug. So that’s off the table, and I’m pretty sure Well’s radiant buff is more than a normal radiant. Even then, there’s no real scenario where you aren’t in the teams well for whatever reason. Let alone not in the teams well and able to keep surrounded procked and be far away enough from the boss you can even use. So your back to now sliding in a well, even if you weren’t and somehow got radiant another way and it IS the same damage buff as well, you can’t reliably use surrounded and now you’re stuck on explosive light, which doesn’t buff the Wolfpack rounds from Gjallahorn (which Idek the distance you need to be within to get pack hunter from the Galli player and if that’s not super large that’s another step in this whole scenario just for barely more damage) so you’re not getting all your damage buffed by Wolfpack. All that for a barely better option when you can just surge match and use another 2nd weapon to get more damage into your rotation. Even in solo content, why not use hothead? Why not use cataphract GL? It’s just a gimmick unfortunately this rocket.

@@warsmith1294 hothead still beats it out though, I checked the numbers for all the stuff. Hothead in a swap rotation had a DPS of mid 500 thousands. One x5 shot alone does 170k in the background while you do another form of damage. Surrounded Crux doesn’t even beat that per shot. Additionally surrounded crux’s max DPS is only ab 240k. No special weapon can realistically make up ~17 seconds of 260k DPS lost for 17 seconds worth for the rest of a phase. In addition, Cataphract GL doesn’t actually fall that much behind rockets in total damage either, total damage from surrounded crux was only 2.9 mil and Bait and switch Cataphract was 2 million. And if you can’t keep surrounded up for every rocket/have to use explosive light Cataphract just dumps on it then. This is also assuming crux has Wolfpack rounds for every shot too, there was no version done without them and they aren’t a flat buff like a subclass word so you can’t exactly roughly take off what the estimate would be for damage so you can just assume the damage is a chunk lower, I’d guess at most 2.5mil if not like 2.2 mil without Wolfpack. I do think it’d have a place if somehow you ABSOLUTELY needed your exotic slot to be something else for 100% of the time, but that’s not often the case. Especially considering only heavy weapons lose ammo when swapped, specials do not. The ammo doesn’t transfer 1 for 1 ofc but if you have 100% (no reserve mod) trace ammo and you swap to a shotgun instead you will have 100% of the mag ammo. Idk if it rounds up or down but I’m pretty sure it goes up. So you can always swap from like eremite to merciless and not lose ammo then use malfeasance or wardens law once the heavy and special are out if they run out. Maybe if you weren’t skilled enough to manage staying alive without like sunshot? But then again, Cataphract bodies explosive light crux and if you can somehow keep surrounded up and not die and manage a rotation that out classes hothead with crux then you should be able to stay alive solo without sunshot and restoration.

I‘m still not really convinced cuz you could achieve a similar effect with radiant dance machines where bait and switch will be better and for longer damage phases reconstruction with bait and switch apex and for example isanagis burden is way better for ammo preservation and maybe even more dps (idk about the last part tho). For general use like gm‘s is apex with recon and explosive light still on top just because of how you dont need to do anything exept point and shoot

I don't know how much it would change the dps values, but you can get 4 rockets in the mag with envious assassin (kill one ad, swap to rocket to get 2 in the mag, kill other 10 ads, the perk will add 2 rockets to the mag and get you to 4, it sounds harder that it actually is), and with cold comfort's origin trait you can fire 5 rockets without reloading. Maybe you did it in the testing but I didn't see that in the video so I though I'd point it out

I have a Slideshot + EL roll but my go-to has still been my Tripod roll of Clown Cart + Bipod. It's got high base reload speed and I managed to get one with a reload speed MW. As it already has high velocity, especially compared to Hot Head, you can grab other stats than focusing Velocity. Overall a great weapon with fun rolls that also put in some work.

this is all true but the main thing is that people think more dps=better. you are losing all tour reserves quite fast. if u want high total. use bipod (niche) or enhanced surrounded. and surrounded is already a niche pick so bns is just easy and ease of use is quite important and there are alot of bosses where apex is still better.

I will say I prefer the recomb roll for stunning overloads as my shot is more accurate to finish them off in master lost sectors. Another nice thing is that I can double up on surges when running Indebted Kindness :)

I got Slideshot / Explosive Light (no Impact Casing) recently and got Slideshot / Targeting Module (yes Impact Casing) earlier in the season. Honestly, my finger has been hovering over "Dismantle" so many times. I've held off dismantling because (1) it's just so unique and interesting, and (2) it has a ton of potential (as this video makes the case for). But honestly, I just can't see myself legitimately sliding around like a madman during DPS. There's probably a 95% chance I accidentally down myself, and another 95% chance I slide in front of someone who blows themself up. I guess I should just actually give it a try and see how much of an ordeal it is. Otherwise, I'm hunting for Envious or Recon / Explosive Light. Oddly, I've gotten Recon / Targeting Module, Envious / Targeting Module, and Slideshot / Targeting Module. Game really wants me to lock on. I'm a bit torn because having Targeting is sometimes very useful (think making the boss in Lightblade GM go away really quickly at the beginning), but it feels like too big of a trade off losing a damage perk. Anyone have any thoughts? I have too many of these in my vault and need to whittle it down.

I've deleted so many of this exact roll. I don't regret it. I would probably die halfway through my reserves constantly. I've😊 been rocking a reconstruction/demolitionist roll with success.

Crux is my go to heavy this season when I’m wanting a pve heavy to deal damage that is dragons breath. I use a clown explosive light roll more, because it really syncs with Argent Ordinance this season, but I have a bipod clown for fun that I use for shooting as many rockets as I can

This sorta explains why last night when I was farming Kalli from Last Wish for red borders that one dude was sliding back and forth in front of the team and eating the entire team's rockets and one hunter's golden gun to the back of his head. We ended up needing to finish with special weapon damage because of this one guy. I mean dude, I get you want high personal DPS, but don't use slideshot Crux against Kalli and cancel out the rest of our DPS. She already goes down fast enough lol! Love this weapon though. I love slideshot on shotguns and grenade launchers before, so having a rocket launcher with it is awesome.

slide shot with explosive light is rly something. i was sliding in that well while members of my fireteam was using bait and switch but it will be different when we 're all gonna do the same

Definitly my favorite rocket launcher. And while I didn’t get a god roll one, I got one with Reconstruction/Bipod and Explosive Light/Clown Cartridge, both with Impact. I love cosplaying as the Soldier from TF2 and shoving 4 rods into a single tube

Slide might work in solo scenarios. But I like my recon tracking workhorse roll. It's extremely nice in GMs. 2 shots will down any overload this season

I am using a clown cartridge explosive light with inpact casing roll, always doing the most dps when we are using rockets. You dump all you rockets insanely fast and then you swap to your special fusion rifle or whatever for more damage. Way safer than slideshot.

I love crux for nightfalls/dungeons but in raids not so much unless you tell your fireteam you will be sliding alot ( it WILL cause deaths from people hitting you with rockets in wells/bubbles ect. I use fourth horseman + crux & mask of bakris

I just got my first one of the season. Envious assassin and explosive light. With impact casing. I feel like thats a decent roll. At least for the first burst of dps with envious procced.

Personally, I've been loving my Reconstruction/Bipod roll. Having 4 rockets ready to go at any time is so much fun, and it's nice to not feel like I'm wasting my exotic if I'm not running it in heavy.

Apex predator when paired with radiant dance machines or rain of fire does more because of the enhanced surrounded option btw, which for me really makes this already niche god roll only useful on titan but rn but for majority of scenarios strand titan can be used to out dps the rocket by far which just makes it even more niche

Those damage numbers shown for all the rockets are very deceptive. When you're using the reconstruction bait and switch apex predator, you can't just look at the rocket's damage alone. The point of that perk combo is to fully utilize your other weapons with it. That is where that perk combo differs from a lot of the others shown there where you are just using the rocket launcher in the damage phase. And when you look at those numbers, its clear that Apex Predator with Recon and B&S is the best. Which is probably why we still see Cross using it months later for everything even though he did this video putting it at the bottom, lol.

I got a crux with impact, clown and bipod. I hold 15 rockets, and fire 3 per mag every reload. It’s absurd and I love it.

Really late comment, but after just getting back into Destiny, I was interested to see how slideshot would work on a Rocket Launcher. For me, if you want to use this in a raid encounter, be prepared to be behind your team if youre going to be sliding around during a DPS phase full of Egde Transits.

I feel like this is situational since if you're playing warlock you could use rain of fire with bait n switch and get like 3-4 rockets off on the first weapon rotation. Not saying crux isn't meta just saying that there are some exotic options for dps phases that make it easier to utilize rockets. Especially for warlock considering they don't have good dps armor exotics anyways.

I have reconstruction and quick draw, good enough for me. It has alloy casing for faster reloads as well if needed I guess
