Lou, I just can't tell how much I enjoyed this build. You really pulled it off well. The added little details just compliment the "set" look. What a great tribute to the actors and crew at the age of TV filming then. This was really a great idea and I hope you take it to Wonderfest.

It would be cool if you expanded the diorama by building out the old AMT bridge kit as a set and connect them by a hallway. On the bridge set instead of Star Trek figures you could have people working on the bridge set getting it ready for the next scene to film while the cast is busy on the shuttle set.

@@aztekdummy How about just having all the wiring for the lighting of the bridge panels running out the back and draping over those parts. I assume back in the 60's that's what it probably would have looked like. Having a bunch of power cables and extension cords running around all over the place.

Eliot your homework assignment rewatch all the bridge scenes, I can't remember which episode, but in at least one, there is cigarette smoke drifting across the set, don't forget this was the 60s!
@MrChief1012 жыл бұрын
@@doctordetroit1217 If only I had some sort of computer I could just ask to show me any bridge scene that had cigarette smoke on it... But you're right, the 60s indeed. Still, the studio sound stages were all made out of wood and lived in fear of imminent conflagration. Still, actors are willful children, we all know that. Overlooking a gigantic, stenciled no smoking sign is an easy one!
@MrChief1012 жыл бұрын
@@doctordetroit1217 Next to that shiny apple is my report that, after asking my computer about that topic, I got one solid hit about the TOS show Journey to Babel. In which, Bones is bending over Sarek-- with a torso concealing medical box in view -- performing some sort of surgery. Smoke is visible to one side in the still frame I saw. Some discerning readers see this as plausible cauterization or cryogenic procedures. Occam tells me someone was smoking OR diffusers or gel color filters were getting too hot in the inkies just there.

Hiya Lou. You could make one of the Twins the "Script Girl" and you forgot to add old tape markers on the floor for the actors to know where to stand for their cues. Also, you forgot to put a Red Light and "QUIET WHEN ON" sign on the outside of the walls. LoL This turned out to be a really great diorama. 😁👍

the chairs would be the markers. the outside wouldn't be part of the set, so there would be no marks there.

This is an incredible idea. It shows that imagination can make any kit a show stopper. A version of the venerable Amy Bridge set, half assembled for filming with lighting & rigging etc with actors and crew standing with scripts, some out of costume etc would be awesome. The only change I’d suggest is to make at least 2 figures smoking on the set. There’s no way at least a few on set in 1967 wouldn’t had had a cigarette in 1967.
