LOU ... I just put a bunch of LINKS to the CAMERAS, LIGHTS & DOLLY on here and now it's gone. Hopefully, it's waiting for you to approve on your end. However -- The CAMERAS were MITCHELL BNC or BNCR's. The LIGHTS would be MOLE-RICHARDSON's. The DOLLY would likely be RABY's. Also, NOTE: If you do the 'WILD WALL' on the outside ... you'll need to put them on WHEELS as this was a RAISED SET. If you require any further info ... just ask. Great work, amigo-!! D.A. I understand space nerves results in excess laughter when everyone left alive are safe. OR the director told them to laugh-- no, harder. I said laugh like you heard something funny. Did you hear the one about the blind snake that married a rope? Yes, that's laughter! This was a wonderful chasing of madness, Lou. Love it. Making everything a studio set. As for lighting all the stuff that's "flat" well, here's your chance to have all the wiring, out the back, going to giant black boxes! The floor would be raised up on a stage. Lighting hasn't changed much, finding a 3D C-stand with a huge 5K "inkie" on it or 35mm camera with dolly may be possible. The same lighting "cans" would be hung from pipe frames above. What you really need are a vast assortment of old, totally bored stage hands, complete with extinguished cigars in their mouths. I really enjoy your sleuthing about the wild set walls-- all very plausible. T'is true; once you do Spock's eyebrows, there's no going back! I hope your XMas is windless (-ier), merry and bright!

I really enjoyed your analysis of the episodes. We must remember that the Galileo shuttlecraft seen in episodes after the Galileo 7 was a different ship as obviously the original burned up on re entry,so the changes made were partly to add details but perhaps also to show the shuttlecraft as a different ship. The "tardis effect " was prevalent in many productions. All model kits of the Voyage to the bottom of the sea flying sub have a stern room added when in the series you exited the rear of the sub via the aft hatch and went straight outside.Excellent video and build Lou!

I really like the concept of building this kit as a set. You could extend the concept to building the actual roll-away components with 2x4 framing and wheels, find/modify some matching scale figures wearing period headphones and tool belts to represent the stage screw, some of those folding chairs with the actors names on them, vintage cameras and dollies, a person with a clapper board. the possibilities are endless. Sounds like a fantastic and original idea to make it into the "filming set". How about scratch-building (or 3D-printing?) a couple of the huge 1960's TV cameras to have pointing-in from the outside? Just to emphasise the "set-ness" of the finished model? Just an idea that occurred to me. Feel free to utterly ignore my insane rantings.....

Love the set idea, they would have used many types of lights, but mostly Fresnel lights. I've seen 3D printer files for these if you want to search. The Mitchell 35mm film camera is spot on for what they would have used. Mole Richardson was the major manufacturer of Fresnel lights for decades. A search will bring up original series set photos showing the cameras and lights.

@@aztekdummy Back in the 1960s there was an add on detail kit that included such a camera for those who wanted to build a TV or movie set. I'm sure they are collectibles now but ive seen many of the ancient Revell add on kits reissued these days. Ask where you buy your kits or better, check with your convention contacts. This is a great idea. Instead of hiding the wiring for the lights you can have big obvious cable bundles, and maybe model railroad hinges on that panel in the aft compartment. The flying port wall and aft wall should be on two by four framed dollies with scale casters. Don't know where you'll find those.
@TrayChester01 Жыл бұрын
@@aztekdummy Unfortunately, you would be dealing with 1960's record keeping on a show that got cancelled and had many things thrown away. I'm sure Desilu etc. kept the cameras, but I couldn't find anything to lock down exactly which ones, other than there were "likely" two kinds used. It's another one of those rabbit hole situations, Lou.
@aztekdummy Жыл бұрын
@@TrayChester01 oh i doubt that very much. The studio equipment is a constant and I'm sure it just went to another stage and filmed Mission Impossible or the Brady bunch or any of the other TV shows Paramount was shooting at the time. they would have used standardized lighting packages as well so they could interchange between stages. I'm not interested in getting down to the serial number, but Michell cameras and Fresnel lighting will carry me where I want to go
