Causes and Fixes P0730 Code: Incorrect Gear Ratio

Hi..my vehicle has this code and it won't engage 4th gear....what must I do

I had my transmission totally rebuilt and since I had it installed no problem at all. Then 2 months later, I went WOT for short distance just to enjoy the sound of my CHARGER RT 07 with the new exhaust line. The engine went into safe mode and got the icone light up (it seems like it does it randomly depending on how crazy I drive). But when I look at the code through the menu of the car, it says it is all good. And few minutes later, back on the road. Eventually the engine icone goes away. Yesterday, I plugged my HP Tuners and to figure out what is going on. I got two codes; P0730 along P0219 (Engine Overspped Condition). I will defenetetly drive smoother until I get this issue fixed ( I dont want to mess up anything at this point since I put already a lot of money to have my transmission fixed). What do you suggest ? Man oh man, I drive a 2017 Audi Q7 3.0 and had this code along with a P07DE & P2703 code that all came up at the same time when I was accelerating coming on to a high way. I know I had a slow transmission fluid leak due to a bad transmission oil pan gasket which I ordered. That’ll be the first thing I try and just hope for the best. Any additional input or help is highly recommended and highly appreciated. I can even compensate.

forgot to mention tone rings i am having the limp mode problem did one tone ring it got better doing the other one now so that i can rule that out. thanks for the info

Hi i have 2003 land Rover range Rover hse when i started it i put it on drive it going no problem but if i stop under the lights qhen i have to move it not going i have to turn it of and start it again to go .what can cost that problem.thanks

My crv does this I’ve noticed that my alternator voltage is at 12.9 could this be a reason why I’m getting th 730 code also after like 10 min driving it will not shift into third and just revés up. I turn of car for like 5 seconds then I drive off and works good for like 10 min and it’s all over again.

If there is a battery or alternator issue, that can cause problems with the computer modules. 12.9 volts is on the low side; most alternators output 13.5-14.5 volts. You can look up the rated alternator output is rated for; some newer vehicles have smart alternators with voltages that vary.

I have code 730,and when my car seems like it goes into neutral I just turn the engine off for a few minutes and restart it works fine. Have you ever heard of this 2002 Honda Civic.
