Love the videos. Been to a few Iberostars and recently just become a club member to enjoy more of the resorts. They have always comped upgrades for free for us and always treated us like gold. Booking a wedding at maya Paraiso and never been there so you are a life saver

If there was some outstanding offer here, I'd think about returning. But for the price and it's competition, there are many other options out there.

Going here a month from Saturday and appreciate your review. My BF and I got a great deal here for 9 days so I am looking forward to it but do appreciate the honesty! We are newer vacationers (only our third all inclusive) so not so picky in terms of resort but as long as the food/drinks are good, we are good!

Sorry to hear that. We had fun, don't get me wrong. But I'd never say "OMG YOU'VE GOT TO GO TO THIS RESORT!!" There's so much competition out there. I feel they dropped a ball on a few key items.

@@JaysDMC again, totally agree with you. We stayed in the premium with a swim out. We still had fun, but there are many options in that area. There was something not right or missing at this hotel. Anyway, excellent review.

Wow - I’ve been to this resort twice and have had the opposite experience for hospitality - everyone is so welcoming and bends over backwards to make sure you have what you need. The Starbucks is a bummer, it used to be a self service coffee and beverage station with a soft serve ice cream machine that the kids loved. The tapas is my favorite restaurant there (excluding Le Chique of course which is incomparable).

Iberostar is a win win use the free spa atvshopping plaza its adults only but awesome. I always stay at grand with great spa but shopping plaza spa is a must see

Thank you for your honest review. Really liked your review of the Lindo and because of that we booked our vacation there for Feb 2020. I'm a coffee nut as well, and definitely love the good coffee review. If I have to pay for coffee, I'll be in trouble. So deal breaker for me. Keep up the reviews, so I'll know where to book my next vacation.

Wow. Sounds like Azul needs to refocus on hospitality training. Return guests are what keeps these places rolling. Iberostar Lindo is in a similar price point but worlds apart in experience. Thanks for the tour, Jay!

I couldn't agree more. More often than not, we LOVE trying new resorts. However, when a resort does an amazing job with hospitality, we tend to try them again (Iberostar Lindo, Planet Hollywood, Royalton). So I agree, return guest keep the lights on! Thanks for watching!!

Great review as always ! I left some comments on your other video and you responded so thanks for that. After watching this video I probably wouldn't go especially just getting back from the Iberostar Maya they look night and day ! I did notice at the Iberostar people were reserving the chairs by the pool (mostly on the MAYA side because of the full sun) early in the morning so I felt like on day 3 that I had to rush down there to get a seat around 6 AM everyday otherwise yo were stuck in the shade for the day but like I said in your other video that resort was great and my wife keeps telling everyone that was her best vacation yet ! Have you been to the MOON PALACE ?

That's the worst! Sorry to hear that. Reserving chairs is so rude IMO. Ever been on a cruise? People wake up 5am to get chairs!!! INSANE! I haven't been to Moon Palace but a personal friend of ours just got back last week. I'm sure I'll get the lowdown when we see them next. I hear great things about Moon Palace.

Moon palace is not as good as Iberostar. Moon Palace is gigantic. i stayed at Nizuk section at moon. Paid a lot I stayed at iberostar grand. Have been back to iberostar 4 times never returned to gigantic moon.

@@JaysDMC Let me know about the Moon Palace please. A couple on our flight to Cancun was staying there for 15 days and he said they go there every year so I'm interested to hear ! They weren't reserving the chairs that early at the Iberostar when you were just there ? I think you got back just a few weeks before I went if im not mistaken . It seems like they were only reserving the ones that were in full sun right by the pool only on the Maya side because it seemed like the Lindo side was mostly shaded except for near the end by the swim up bar

@@Charles-nk3ep So our friends just got back from Moon Palace. They elected to get a premium package that allowed them access to the entire resort. They had access to all 9 restaurants. They said the food was flat our amazing! Pools are huge! They were happy with the rooms and service. So, sounds like good stuff all around. When we were in Iberostar, I didn't see people reserving chairs. I'm sure it was happening but it wasn't on a large basis as it was at Azul Beach. Sad to hear that was going on in the Maya. If I understand correctly, the Maya is the nicer part of Iberostar.

Hi I have a couple of questions please if you don't mind answering whenever you get a chance? Firstly though, this review is very very useful and informative. Good honest balance of pros and cons and high quality tour so really appreciate you putting this up thank you! - Will look at the rooms one next! So i'm going here for 2 weeks this December 2020 with my Girlfriend (Or at least I think it's this resort! TUI Sensatori Riviera Cancun which always references Azul Beach). Reason we booked is because we did Sensatori in Dominican last year and it was amazing but i've got a feeling this won't stack up! 1. ROOM - With the rooms situation, was there enough options upgrade on arrival? We're in Adults Only with King Bed as standard but following your video and looking at other reviews, I think we'll want a room with good views in the Premium Section as the personal concierge service to reserve pool beds sounds like a safe idea! Plus I think some are newly refurbished and some aren't? 2. CURRENCY - In terms of things like tipping staff and the Starbucks, is Peso best? I'm from UK so won't spare US dollars so just making sure I take their preferred currency. 3. PERSONAL ADVICE - I know this is a random one but as we're going for 2 weeks, no kids and just the two of us, is there anything you could advise or recommend doing while there from your own experience? Even things like booking restaurants early, things to avoid, best pool, excursions etc? Thanks again for sharing this video and experience, really useful! - I've liked and subscribed and will watch Rooms one next!

Hi! First and foremost congratulations! 2 weeks, i'm jealous!!! I can't wait to get back out there and vacation. We went with the kids. So we had 2 rooms and didn't explore any other options. However, they did offer beach front rooms that were happen to walk past that were amazing. Floor to ceiling windows that looked at the ocean! With regards to tipping, I always tip in dollars. Dollars always seemed to be preferred and seem to go a long way down there. Each day the concierge would offer us tour packages or excursions for fun. But again, with the kids and we were only there for a week so it was hard to find something everyone wanted to do and try. However, they pushed HARD on this tomahawk steak package that you can have for dinner. I regret not trying it. I heard it was absolutely amazing!

Planning a trip in August would you choose iberostar Selection Paraiso Maya or Barcelo maya palace ???

Both are amazing but I always suggest Iberostar. However, if you go to Barcelo Maya you'll have a blast there as well!

Pretty fair review after being there. Not bad place at all. Its quiet, which is good if you want relaxation. The rooms are good. Food is decent. He undersold the night shows. But ya it can be a tad boring. The one thing he missed was that this place is far from any day trip spot.

I'm really happy to hear that. Do they still do the pool aerobics at 10am each morning? We would crack up each time because the instructor used the same playlist each day. By day 4 we knew exactly which song he'd play next.

Coffee in the buffet was included. However, if you wanted premium coffee at that coffee shop, you had to pay. I agree - this is very odd at an all inclusive. Premium alcohol and premium dinners (lobster, tomahawk steaks) - I get it. But coffee?? Makes no sense to me.

My husband and I stayed her in the premium section in 2016. We enjoyed our stay but agree with you regarding people’s attitude. We were bombarded with people trying to sell us apartments in the complex. When we said no we were treated differently. However the waiters in the spoons restaurant were extra nice but there never seemed to be enough staff in there. Out of 10. I’d give it a 7. The beach let it down.

Hi! There is an elevator that brings you upstairs to the main lobby. if my memory serves me right, it's opposite the door that leads you to the main cafeteria and right under the stairs.

I have been to many resorts Iberostar Grand is by far the best. I say any Iberostar Is great! Excellence Playa Mujeres is putstanding as well. I you and the wife can go alone definately try I Grand. Excellence Playa Mujeres right there and for an awesome friendly small resort Royal Hideaway Playacar. Is always great! This place reminds me of moon palace with deadly bridges. My friend great job as always

We are here now and going to leave after the first day. If you have high expectations you will be disappointed. The resort is run down and hasn’t been maintained. The seaweed is also super bad right now which I realize is a problem everywhere. Because the beach is so small my 3 year old can’t even play in the sand.

I have not been back to this resort. Congrats on the wedding! Me personally, I wouldn't get married here. I would sooner check out Iberostar and Planet Hollywood. We just came back from the resort. It seems they changed a few things and refreshed it. We loved the resort. The rooms are big, clean, beautiful, with a jacuzzy. The pools are fenomenal with the littlle bridges over, water in the pools very clean. They have enough daily activities and night shows are quite decent, although not on a big scale. However, if you come for the sea, you will be disappointed. The water is shallow even if you swim hundreds of meters far, also rocky, weedy, not clear. Better bring water shoes with you. That was a big disappointment for me as I always prefer the sea to the pool and I like deep water. Service was slow and they could still work on the hospitality part. It happened to us that we asked 3 times for wine at dinner time and the waiter forgot it all 3 times, so we left dinner without wine. Coffee - another issue, you could only get it in the restaurants, not bars. There was also a cofee machine in the room, so later on we used that instead of waiting for it at breakfast as you never knew how long it would take to get it. Food - ok, the desserts were good looking, but not very tasty.. Another issue was the Prestige Club. Lots of stuff was available only for this club. They even have the reserved areas where you are not allowed to go, including some cabanas by the pool and on the beach. So, yes, if you are not a morning person, forget about cabanas. And one last thing I disliked was the music that was on the speakers throughout the resort. During the day it was ok, but around 5 they started with this etheral, depressing music that I really do not associate with holidays and fun. All in all it was good. Would I go back? I would for the resort itself, but not for the beach and sea.

Agree with u. I got up and was on the beach at 5 and slept till 7ish on the beach. I complained about lack of service and attitude nice thing was my wife who’s never sick was real sick for 4 days when I complained the manager got my room number we had a swim up room he had the waiter bring me a double crown royal 5 times every aft as I sat on the patio with wife who could barely move- spoons was great. Food was great. Beach awful.

It's a shame because it had the ability to be a great resort. They just don't execute correctly in my opinion. The grounds are nice and it was always kept clean. But the staff always gave the impression that they couldn't be bothered.

Of here in early August this year, really disappointed to hear about the beach, we always enjoy a good beach with deep water. Sounds like beach chair wars, just like most European resorts, I will come equipped! Thank you for that feedback! I'd like to think that since posting this video, the resort made changed. I'm not 100% sure though. I've seen others make very similar comments like mine which isn't a good sign. I will say, I remember booking this resort at the very last minute and it was very cheap compared to the others. In the end, you get what you pay for!

Shortly , its NO GO RESORT. I don't even wake up 6 am at MY HOME, never mind on vacation. Sadly I heard that many resorts in Cancun are run by Mexican drug cartels . Don't know if is true or not but in past I been in many resorts in Punta Cana DR and some of them are also run by local mob . In those resorts you can clearly see "what you want" attitude . If I pay $ 5000 or more for 10 days ,for 2 people , I want friendly stuff to serve me there and I will respect that (I'm good tipper ). In some resorts not even $5 US tips are good enough. Thanks for you reviews . I watch your reviews for a long time and went to some resorts you suggested ( last December Royalton Bavaro). Not going to this one LOL. I like your review of Iberostar Paraiso Lindo, so I may go there. Thanks.

The Lindo is amazing! If you got an amazing deal on the Azul Beach, I wouldn't tell you not to go. But there's a lot of competition out there. Just felt they were a bit behind the curve on some points compared to others.

Was planning to have my designation wedding here - no way after this video. Almost paid the deposit too. If it was just me and him, fine - but I'd hate to bring my fiance's entire family to a place that doesn't even have enough chairs.

For the right price I'd consider returning. But I couldn't honestly suggest this resort over any of the others I've been to. There are so many amazing options out there. Have you been to Planet Hollywood yet?

i see. This is the azul fives in Cancun not playa del Carmen. i stayed at the one in playa in 2017 and we like it. I am going back in Nov-2032 and we are staying at El Dorado Royal.

Don't get me wrong - we did. We had fun. However, this resort is a bit out of sync with any of the other resorts we've stayed at.
