In sixth grade when I finished this show I got really depressed. I pretty much stopped watching anime for another year and a half, I haven't stopped since I got back into it. But every time I come back to this anime I _still_ get really depressed after finishing it. It's just so charming, more so than any other anime I've ever watched, really.

I love this show so much, but when it ended I wasn't sad. I was glad that everything ended well. Osaka, Chiyo, Sakaki, Tomo, Kagura, Koyomi passed their exams, entered the universities they wanted, turned their dreams into reality and continued to be friends. *Isn't this a good ending?* Upd: Sorry, I lied. I felt a little sad.

I remember this being broadcasted on filipino television, just as noise in the background of the living room. I was kinda a weird sleeper, sometimes I'd take noon naps and would wake up at around dinner time, feeling all groggy and drowsy from waking up, seeing the ED on the television. Hell, I still recognized the OP and ED of the anime and didn't know why until I confirmed that it was broadcasted in the philippines around the time I remembered it from. Just thought i'd vent it out here. Seeing this ED is like a triple nostalgia trip, hot damn.

It's always emotional going back to Azumanga Daioh and hearing this song at the end. It was the first anime I had ever watched, and I didn't realize just how special it was at the time until I tried to find other ones like it. There were some that came close like Lucky Star or Nichijou, but I have never been able to find one that captures the same feeling as this one did.

Watched the show around the time this video was posted and I loved the hell out of it. In fact, it got me through some tough times back then. Watched a good chunk of it when my brother was in the hospital for a while with a broken jaw. Helped me decompress and relax every day when i came home from school and visiting him. I didn't care much for my school but I do admit that if it weren't for the fact that they had Yotsuba&! I know right! I cried at the end when they graduated because I knew that's how I was going to be in the same scenario when my graduation arrived. I also had a major crush on my teacher, so I related to the girl that had had feelings for Sakaki(I haven't watched this Anime in a long time, so I can't fully remember all the characters' names). But what I'm basically trying to say is I could relate to the characters and their moments/scenes/events, so it brought me closer. I had many laughs. This Anime played a major role throughout my middle school years. Azumanga Daioh meant so much to me and will always remain as my favorite anime of all time.

Life wasn't better back then. You were. Not to say we are worse now, but we're sure harder to entertain. All that said, I almost cried on this (2024) rewatch, and I haven't cried since 2003. Funny thing is that I don't remember being paticularirly emotional about this way back then, but the mind works in strange ways. One of these days some bullshit thing is going to get me, and it might be this one, since it was closest so far. I feel I get less and less nihilistic as years pass by, but at the same time the years pass by so goddamn fast I barely have time to register anything. Couldn't say for sure if I'm happier now than I was, because I've always been pretty happy, and I've always put very little value on wordly matters. Things are always (mostly) improving though, and as shit as the new generation is, we were by far worse, and I have high hopes for the future. (If you are wondering what kind of fucking arse buggering message this is, take comfort in that I'm drunk out of my mind. Also, if you are stuck in the mindset that our generation was best in all ways, then take comfort in the fact that I'm super wrong).
