So we finally have some in game game-play footage of how the slash/stab attack of Mogador works. IT'S AWFUL. When she teleports she alone goes right in front of the enemy and freezes. Her damage reduction is only from ram damage, so in most cases she gets instantly deleted against powerful enemies. Quickest way to death lol. We shall see if she gets reworked at all in the future. UPDATE: Mogador was buffed! It adds to her first skill - "During the stabbing attack, if she takes damage equal to 10% of her HP, she will ignore bullets and collisions for the next 1.5 seconds." This skill makes her at least usable now; however, she is still not good. She can still get one shot and take damage from non bullet/collision based damage. The invincibility is a very short duration so she will likely take more than 10% damage. Additionally because of the game's code checking at the frame level, in the wild she can actually take more damage before it triggers (about a 0.1s delay). UPDATE 2: Mogador was buffed again. So instead of 10% it's now 5%. She's starting to get better.

It should also be noted that this skill is bugged on top of being extremely poorly designed: When it activates on auto, it prevents the main fleet from firing and it also prevents the vanguard from launching torpedoes. Needless to say, there was absolutely zero playtesting for mogador. Although according to some of the staff at the AL discord, the devs are aware of all of these issues and they should get fixed at some point.

You have to give it to the AL Devs, they really succeeded in making the new UR DD unique by making her inverse Laffey II xD. One refuses to ever sink while the other can wait to do so and throws herself in front of all the shells and torps.

Small issue with that, the Devs overlooked an issue with her charging up to an enemy and stabbing them, she dies rather fast due to only not taking ramming damage as much, rather than shells, barrages, torps, etc.

Fun historical fact: Alsace is a sister to Flandre, the reason one is UR and one is SR is due to the fact there were 3 variants of the Alsace-class put up to draft but never full decided upon before the French got pushed out by Germany. These 2 have potentially 2 other sisters: Normandie and Bourgone. Alsace is based on the 3x Quad mound 380mm design, Flandre is based off the 3 triple 380mm design. These means the either of the last 2 could give us a FFNF variant to a 406mm gun as the third design was planned to have 406mm in triple mounts.

If Yostar could've added one more ship to Light of the Martyrium (Either on her own and make it be 6 new ships in one event or as a replacement for Épée and/or Fleuret), I'd choose the Redoutable class submarine Casabianca. Then this way Iris Libre gets a submarine that isn't a special one-off like Surcouf is, or Vichya Dominion could get their first submarine overall.

Other than the bug of other ships not being able to fire or attack (like seriously not doing much to quell the rumours about Azur Lane losing resources to Azur Promelia here with this utter lack of testing), the charge should make her 100% immune to damage until she returns to position, like seriously... what were they thinking (or not rather). Her other skills are... yeah... she needs a massive buff/rework. Like immediately, not next month or next year... IMMEDIATELY. Part of me wonders if she was put here as a replacement of a different ship with the state her skills are in, like how Friedrich Carl was put into replace Anson.

Who would you MLB first between Alsace and Mogador, for a newer player?

UR ships don't need to be MLB if you want to reach max level, so there's no pressure on that side. But you will need it to reach their full potential anyway. As for which one first, it will depends on your actual needs,, right now, since both of them are good. You might want to prioritise Mogador if you need a vanguard, or Alsace if you want a backliner. If your needs are basically equivalent, I'd choose Alsace first, personally. Mogador still need testing to fully now what she can do, and Alsace can deal quickly with most threats. On the other hand, you might also consider your ressources as a new player. If you want to do the 3 daily pulls, you might get duplicate of Alsace anyway, if you are lucky enough. So its probably more interesting to wait a little and see how your pulls turns out. You won't need Alsace at full firepower by the end of the event

@@AzurLaneMeta My aim or view for a buff for Mogador, comes depending on what happens when she moves w/ a vanguard, alongside considering the new status quo of UR DD's as well ever since Laffey II came out last year. If her going up to an enemy to stab them, results in your other ships to be stuck moving back to the same spot where Mogador would have been once she triggered her charge into stab. If she does cause the vanguard to have that issue: Grant her / her allies in the vanguard upon her using the skill to take 3.5 seconds of 100% invincibility (Stab takes 1.5s, overall time for her likely to be back into her spot will be 3 seconds). If she doesn't cause whats mentioned above: Give her full 100% invincibility for 3.5 seconds so she can stab, then go back to her crew w/o being punished for it as it's a major piece of her gimmick. Or just make her stab cause crits 100% by default regardless if she's on fire or not. Also, would not hurt to buff her 20% shield to 30%, as I view her as Laffey II but focuses on DPS rather than AA. And up her overall evasion rate increase from 6% to 10% Sure, a lot of this is probably overkill, but I mean Considering Laffey II is basically the new status quo for DD's, theres no harm foul to make this reality. Overall, the devs clearly have not tested nor practiced with her one bit when designing her and rolled the dice when making her, and now they have to face the backlash from all 3 communities for it.

Except she launches herself right in front of the ennemy. There are already videos from the CN community where a lvl125 Mogador litteraly dies within the first 5 seconds against a boss because she ate every bullet/torp in existence when she charged in front of the boss. If Manjuu doesnt buff her or rework her skillset she will be pretty much unuseable in any high level content.

UPDATE: Mogador has gotten a hotfix. HOWEVER, it does not solve her problems, and CN/JP/EN are furious right now at Manjuu at all direction. Note: Manjuu are aiming for her to be not " Too OP, " that's a farced statement coming from the same ppl who made Laffey II and raised the expectations of future URS kits.

Posted on bilibili 2h ago so dunno if we already have it too. Chinks in the comments don't sound like it helped all that much. from what I read from the Chinese comments it absolutely does not change the problem, she still dies before the effect is time to be activated because she takes too much damage at once and even if she manages to survive until activation they only last 1.5s so after the effect is gone and when she comes back she also dies the “buff” legitimately made the Chinese even more angrier. They are at a point where they tell to Manjuu to just remove the skill and it will be a buff, some are more extreme and want to ask Manjuu to refund the skin they bought, some accuse Azur Promilia and some wonder if Manjuu/Yongshi really doesn't have any testers. the vast majority say that just putting an invincible for the duration of the skill would solve the problem, but Manjuu is probably afraid to do that because it might make the skill too strong. Lets just say their complaint box is on fire and it's spreading all over the HQ. the “buff” (this was like putting a band aid on a titanic sized iceberg cut into a hull of a ship) legitimately made the Chinese / JPN fanbase even angrier than before and it's reaching a breaking point even worse than the Anson incident. They are at a point where they tell to Manjuu to just remove the skill and it will be a buff, some are more extreme and demand to Manjuu to refund the gems for the skin they bought of her. Many also accuse Azur Promilia as being why the quality of AL has gone down the pooper with little care, and some wonder if Manjuu/Yongshi really doesn't have any testers to try these skills out to begin with. the vast majority say that just putting an 100% invincibility, no ghost, just pure 0 damage by all sources for the duration of the skill would solve the problem and went on with our day, but Manjuu is probably afraid to do that because it might make the skill too strong (which I call BS if these are the same devs that made laffey II a literal unit and only ship in a tier above T0 on the EN tier list). Manjuu probably doesn't know what to do with this skill (this will probably be the only time we see a skill with a effect like this). but the CN players are not at all giving up on this, and ask that she be buffed again with actual seriousness to it, potentially being stronger than or near the level of Laffey II due to this outrage as compensation for poor developer management with Mogadors overall setup. I tried these torps out today and it doesn't seem that great. It fires 3 then 2 and the spread is massive so actually getting them to contact enemy mobs was almost futile when playing on auto and against bosses is even worse since they aren't magnetic.

You can kind of fix it. Go to the core shop and buy the magnetic torp aux. Turns the first barrage into a guided one and gives +TRP stat.

As someone who enjoys these events as much for the story as anything else, this event was alot of fun. Actually nudging the overall plot forward a little bit, and the characters themselves are alot of fun. Alsace instant top tier in terms of characters.
