It's good you recognise your own limitations. I wish you the strength to enjoy free to play games without feeling pressured into micro(macro?)transactions. As undesirable this business model can be for some people, it's the most sure way to have devs support their game for years to come as it evolves together with its userbase, rather than hoping a finished game gets the proper support down the line. If every ambitious title could have Terraria-level devs behind them, we wouldn't need gacha at all. But that simply isn't feasible.😊

Traditional JRPG mixed with Korean MMO vibes. Cute anime girls, a cartoonish vibe, happy-go-lucky playstyle. Great mechanics and system but not my cup of tea at all. I would prefer fighting a real dragon than the joke shown, it's a kids game for the most part. I just can't see myself ever feeling tension playing it. It may be good to relax for some time. But it's all little girls, the actual little girls in this game are literal babies. Very odd in my opinion, very very odd.

You will have your usual comparators but just like you cant compare the gameplay of Pokemon and Palworld, i dont think you can compare this to either of them. For now it seems closer to Wuthering Waves or an older Tales Of title. In the end I am just gonna wait for Manjuu to show us more, because i am all for this.

It can't really replace palworld tho. It's a gacha game after all. In palword you can go from fighting with you fist to fighting with a bow to fighting with a gun in a matter of hours, but gacha game does not progress like this. In any gacha game, you will do a not of repetitive grind without seeing any change in the basic gameplay. At the end it will just play very much like Genshin with a pet system, which means one more thing to grind. It does have a lot more sexually attractive characters you can control. That is the advantage of being a gacha game, but most people who aren't that into waifu collecting will find palworld to be a fundamentally better game, precisely because palworld would give you undiluted experience for 50 hours and once you're done, it doesn't overstay its welcome by trying to tether you down with FOMO design.

At this point in time since it's inevitable to see someone say "Genshin meets (insert game name)" as a description I find it already so cringe. Not all open world games needs to be associated and held to Genshin's standard. As a matter of fact Genshin should be held to the standards of these games when they come out like WuWa,End Field, Duet Night Abyss,Project Mugen and now Azur Promilia since these games only followed the open world gacha trend but just by the looks of it they'd offer more as a game overall.

So I usually am not interested in these gacha games especially cause the big 3d open world ones are usually stingy AF and lack QoL and in general I rather play non-gacha games - but I love palworld and pokemon, so the creature collecting kinda makes me interested. Combat here also actually looks good. But my question is will the game give enough pulls to a point where I don't have to even care about saving currency and just play the game how I want to play it? The main reason I'm even considering this game is cause I have few friends who play Azur Lane (and my understanding is that it's same devs) and they swear it's one of the most f2p gacha in terms of the currency you're given and most of the monetization comes from skins. The other thing is - how annoying are time gates, energy limits and resource starvation in the games of this developer? I generally hate when I decide to play a game a bit and the game tells me "F u it's not Tuesday today so you can't get this material". Like bruh.

Obviously you can't make 1:1 comparison as Azur Lane and Promilia are simply 2 different game, but I can vouch on the monetization part at least. Time gate/stamina wise though, AL was so ridiculously generous on that front that we sometimes have problem keeping up with burning the damn stamina (oil) up, so while we don't know anything about how it works in Promilia yet, I'm optimistic to say the least.
