You need to stop over simplifying it. The demo is too rushed. You go thru the portal very quick. Talk about each option, each selection. Very rushed video. And in practice you don't do this. You will have a API as an AppService or Function App not a simple VM. How would you assign a managed identity to an API using an App service?

Can you please answer my qn, I've two java backend webapps, the first webapp has authentication enabled and has app service registration using AD, now if the second webapp wants to connect with the first, it needs user specific token which the second webapp don't have. Since it's in backend the user interaction is not possible to generate user specific token by logging in. So will managed identity resolve this issue? If not, then how to solve this? Also can we achieve this without code changes by only making changes in Portal?

hi This was a great video which make me easy to understand the concept. However, I have one confusion, here we used the managed identity for VM but lets say If I want to create a managed identity for web app, I still have to define the client ID of managed identity in my config file and it will be the same thing like storing credential in the code which can be stolen by anyone and access my resource. In fact it seems to be more less secure that client ID and secret where you need to know both the things to access the resource. However in case of managed identity you only need to know the client ID and you can access the resource which has allowed the access to that managed identity. I might be wrong but please help me to clarify my understanding.
