LUX Calibur have lost a lot of it's impact from the original 3DS games. They changed the slow summon for it to be summoned instantly and there's no screen shaking anymore.

Wait, no screen shaking? But the screen is shaking though?

@@reicho3034it's waaaay more subtle than the old games. It's also faster, making it feels a lot less heavy.

@@Call0045well, seeing how GV is way stronger than before, maybe is not that taxing to him summon the blade, and besides, every azure striker in this Game has a Luxcalibur and Grand Strizer, and throw them like it's on sale

I need to say I really dislike that they changed the name to septimal surge, purely because the original term was unlimited volt, which makes more sense, considering we see Nova there use lightning afterwards, he basically had gunvolts ability put into him, septimal surge works fine for gunvolt but for nova it’s actually not just a surge of power it’s him using something that isn’t his

That’s just the original English name of the skill in gv2 which is like one of gv’s last skills he gets along with being his sp for the final boss version of him

Does Gunvolt change the player's skills in any way or is he just aesthetic?

Gunvolt has a different moveset compared to Kirin. The main differences are he uses darts and Flashfield instead of sword and talismans, has infinite jumps and air dashes instead of two jumps and an upper slash/downwards slash and he has the ability to dash through enemies (tags if the enemy hasn’t been tagged, does lots of damage with tags, with three tags he can instantly kill enemies and bosses) The downsides (more apparent in his game mode) is that he’s on a timer represented by a meter. It’s a consistent timer when he’s with Kirin, but in his game mode it gets drained with just about any non-dart attack, getting hit and extra jumps, and you have to kill enemies to charge it back up. This also applies to his instant kill, so you have to have three tags and also enough electricity to unleash it. Basically he’s more powerful than Kirin but you’re always on edge or else you lose (by himself I mean, with Kirin he just switches back)
