As of patch 0.3.0.55: The Ocello now has 88% consumption, goes a little faster but accelerates and turns slower. See here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHa9mZRudrlqZpI

Just wanna mention that the LRT is not for cutting through jamming at 5km, its for staying beyond 10km blanket range

Add in a few track correlators, and it's almost as good as a dedicated fire control radar It's also something like 50% better than a spyglass at spotting targets at range (though this is more relevant for keeping track of already detected ships rather than sweeping to find ships.)

Agree, it was more of a demonstration of capability then use at 5km. Its power should help cut through jamming at distance though I havent test it out at 10km-ish yet.

A first impression I'm getting: Using the Ocello is, in general, not optimal. It can do bout anything, but because of the hull constraints, it does whatever it does worse than another ship would do it. So either you're using it to find an otherwise impossible combination/interaction, or you're using it to plug a hole in your fleet design's needs(prompting the question of whether you're playing to OSP's strengths), or you're just using an outdated ship because it resembles the Alliance style.

Care to elaborate on the main engine changes. The UI still shows buffed rotation speed for the ship, but that is not true or what?

Sorry I missed this comment. Ships bow and lateral thrusters do not output as much thrust as the main engines do (which is 100% of the ships thrust value). Each hulls thrust values can be found here: nebfltcom.wikidot.com/mechanics:movement

I dont see the reason for the smaller guns on the right side of the Abject Terror seems like it will quite rare to actually use them

I'd replace them with missiles, although if you'd let me, I'd replace everything else with missiles too.

Better for smaller ships, as the ammo travels fast. I should have put a statement in the video saying they aren't meant to be optimised but a starting point.

Maybe they are meant to use against opponents with weak armour from the plasma cannons.

You’re supposed to “death roll”. The cradles mean that the guns blow through their autoloaders fast enough that combined with the yard drive’s agility increase you can roll over, fire the other side, then roll back to the first side as it’s ready again.

OK dokes now this is a video series that needs to exist but 25 minutes for one fleet is WAY too long. 10 minutes max, if a guy can do DCS tutorials in a minute then you can certainly manage that. The learning curve for this game is already debilitatingly long and requires a hefty investment of time, you don't want to just go making that even worse.

I appreciate the feedback and agree. I don't really need to go through every single stat and could have better summed key points and more 'so what' for the viewer. Im unfamiliar with DCS tutorials and will take a peak on how they do it, if you have a link of someone you recommend, can you share it with me?

I really hope they redo the ship models. Looks lame…. Falling Frontier has a much more sophisticated line work…

I'm going to be brutally frank here JDee... but this video is quite disappointing (IMO) for the debut of the OSP faction... Who cares about some standard loadout fleet??? Do people actually fly those without modifying the ships? This game is almost entirely about building your own ship loadouts.... On OSP update release I was hoping to find a review of the new update; showing off the new modules, the new weapons, the new ships... How best to use Plasma weapons, tips on building a broadside ship, best practices on using container missiles and mines, the differences with the OSP radars, etc etc... Just seems like a huge missed opportunity not to have an awesome, comprehensive overview of the biggest update this game has had since release. (and I'm sure you're working on one, but just IMO you should have put your efforts 100% into that and not wasted time on filler content like this. Even if you had a "basic overview" on OSP release, and then make something more comprehensive later would have been great... I just dont even understand who uses a stock fleet loadout and cares about watching a review of some stock build.)

Username checks out. I jumped into the new update as soon as it was live with some friends. Watched this today and learned a bunch about some of the new equipment that I hadn't realized while playing. Going through the starter fleets one by one isn't a bad way to show off the new equipment. Devs made these fleets they way they are for a reason, and they're a good baseline to base fleets off if you're not familiar with them.

@Amerakee no crap it checks out, that's the point; I obviously knew this comment would get kickback which is why I posted on this account. I don't take pleasure in voicing my dissatisfaction (I like JDee's content and in-depth explanations of game mechanics, that's why I'm here)... I also know some people DO use the starter fleets... but 90% of people don't... so making a video that caters to 10% of the playerbase on such a big update is disappointing, and I also made it clear that this was only my opinion. All I'm saying is I would have liked to see an overview of the new additions and their functions and not some analysis of some standard dev created loadout that MOST people will never use when there's so much more to talk about with this update. This video is like making an analysis of the 'recommended items' for a character in DOTA or League, or analyzing the basic loadouts in COD or Battlefield when 95% of people build their own. The important information is how the items work in DOTA or League, or how the guns/gear perform/function in COD or Battlefield, and not how the devs recommend building a class.

Hey mate. Id first like to say thanks for the feedback and the time taken to write it. You clearly care enough to lay out some valid feedback. In truth I tried, though couldn't get an overview out or an in depth look at mines or containers on release, I recorded a few things and wasn't happy with the product I was creating so shelved it for the time being. I am a permeant test but wasn't really involved in testing as I took a break so I also didn't feel comfortable saying how to build something I was unfamiliar with as I don't want to give misdirected advice (although it likely happens on occasion). You have given me a few things to think about for future updates and releases. Both in terms of approach and content.
