Not really, they just went for this weird deep voice to represent them becoming enlightened or some shit like that. The difference between this and the Japanese dub kind of throws you for a loop since the Japanese actors were far more lively.

Kind of, they also went really weird with their "deep voices". They almost sound dead to be honest, Purple Heart especially. The NEXT form voices sound better in Japanese but I bet there's plenty of people who would disagree with me.

Why the voice acting is so calm in this, is due to the fact they have so much power through them they have no reason to get fired up. They now know they can win, think of it as UI goku as he was calm, but powerful.

Nah, it's because the English voice actors went all weird with a "super deep means super strong" thing. The Japanese actors keep their voices more in-character (Purple Heart doesn't go all dead-inside for example).
