Loved when Azymuth would tour NYC. I have most of their music on vinyl since the early 80’s. I caught them at S.O.B’s live.on several occasions. Very fortunate to be able to see them perform up front and close. Alex on bass, Ivan on drums and José Roberto were a match made in Heaven. Funny that you mention this: back in the early 80ies 'Rapid Transit' was the first album of Azymuth I ever listened to and sure enough I made a tape of it as well. For me "Tarde" was like nothing I had ever heard before and quite surprisingly - after having listened to thousands of songs - it still is. I don't think there are many other songs quite like it. 'Voo sobre o horizonte" certainly is of similar quality and together with "Tarde" it ranks in the top of instrumental Brazilian songs.

after your comment and hearing this for the first time...did you ever hear of the group...weather report...if not listen to the album mr. gone....heavy weather...there's a lot of them...but they have similar styles...everybody is just doin' there own thing, almost independent of the other players...lol...but it all fits in and brings a unique sound...i think last summer in rio is the best highway jam i ever cruised with my girl to...thanks for the post, these cats are awesome...so is adani&wolf
