Protection for the crew !? A Bomber crew had TERRIBLE casualties. If you finished 25 missions you got to go home . Check out the Ploesti raids ! Terrible casualties . The pow camps for fliers were huge and many , most airmen counted the missions off

Yes, the casualties were high, the courage of the crews is remarkable.

My great Uncle was a Luftwaffe fw 190 pilot who flew against these bombers.

The YB 299 crashed on its second flight due to not unlocking the control surfaces this was the 4Runner to having a checklist

Did not, I really want to do a B-24 video. They were a great aircraft.

These were more dangerous than the B17s and the airmen knew that, it was not a very popular bomber ( Check out the Ploesti raid and Catch 22)
