B.B. King performs "How Blue Can You Get" live at the Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

I am a metal head, but with no Blues, we had no Rock, and no Rock no Heavy Metal... so one must love blues and BB King was the man!!!

No blues and Jazz we have nothing..every genre from country to hip hop originated from early Blues and Jazz like Ledbelly, BB King,Chuck Berry. That's why when a rapper or country star gets in the Rock Hall of fame I have no issue with. It all stemmed from guys like BB, guitar chords to lyrics all started with those guys

The Animals' "House Of The Rising Sun" talks about the inspiration that English rock bands derived from Blues artists of New Orleans.

BB King is one of the Masters for a reason. He comes from an era when there was only the performers to make a show. No effects, no light show. Benson and Hedges Blues Festival in Dallas. BB, SRV and Joe Cocker along with Dr John and a few others. Ended with them all on stage for an epic jam to end it and one of the great music moments of my life! SRV died just a few months later with this being his last hometown appearance to the best of my memeory.

I've been fortunate enough to have seen him perform live twice during his Farewell Tour. He was already 80 at the time, and those years obviously started to take a toll on his health and his ability to do a full show. But the time he was on stage was pure magic, every single second of it. He hadn't lost any of his skills, both Lucille and his own voice sounded as great as ever. Easily two of the best concerts I've ever been.

Riley 'Billy Blues' King is without a doubt the most important blues artist of the 20th century. His 1964 album 'Live at the Regal' Chicago, is regarded as the album that sent Blues music mainstream and remains one of the greatest live recordings of any genre. Great to see him here having a good time.

Amen to the Live at the Regal! I’m also a fan of Live at Cook County Jail. It may not be the Regal but a great album. I wore a few out on vinyl!

Live at the regal is my joint favourite live album along with the stones’ get yer ya yas out. Incidentally, the “ya yas” tour was supported by bb king and Ike & Tina. So if you find the full ya yas album there is a bb set in there too.

@@goldboy150 I knew this, cheers though. The Ikettes also did a few albums with my absolute favourite artist, Frank Zappa. I have the Rolling Stones lips tattooed on my ear lobe. their music means a great deal to me.

More BB King ❤️. He once said that SRV was the Best he ever seen or heard. He is is my top 5 guitar player list. Albert King is way up there also but Stevie ray Vaughan still the goat 🐐

A lot of guitar players have multiple guitars, but he always plays this one guitar he calls Lucille. Lucille is embossed on the body of the guitar, so when the string breaks you don't get rid Lucille, you get a new string.

I don't know if there was the one and only "Lucille" guitar, or several, but in his late years, mr King gifted it (or one of them) to the pope! I don't believe in any gods, but how cool is that? There's at least one known electric guitar in the legendary Vatican archives!
