They were 400 meaningless runs. High scoring draw in a dead rubber and he had done nothing whatsoever in the previous three tests which his team lost as a result. Lara would have been better making an even 200 in two of the first three tests of that series.

Sobers 365*, he could have set an unprecedented score. Bit declared, attempting to win the Test. Bradman scored 452* in 415 minutes, off 465 balls, 49x 4's, for NSW Vs Qld, in Shield, after NSW held a slight 8 run lead. The team declared & actually won the match. 400* an awesome achievement, but never attempted to win the match.
