i love how nonfans or people new to B.I's music always praise his lyricism. as a matter of fact he is the first and youngest idol to win Songwriter of the Year on Melon Music Awards in 2018 for writing Love Scenario. And aside from his former group, he also gets to write for other artists as well like Blackpink, Lee Hi, Psy, Epik High, Heize...he is really an amazing songwriter and producer. His debut solo album WATERFALL is really a masterpiece. It's like a diary written during his hiatus. And i agree with what you said regarding illa illa about how the first part is so sad but then towards the end there's certain happiness in it. The line "though i know it will crumble i'll probably build a sandcastle again" is really beautiful. And in Waterfall, that line where he said "a waterfall that begins with falling down that's me" it really resonated with his situation at that time. People thought his career ended in 2019 but he proved to us and those people that him falling down is not the end - it's just the start of his new path as a soloist. He didn't have the easiest path but he persevered. He keeps building his own sandcastle even though he knows it will be washed away by the waves. That's B.I! He just keeps working and working minding his own business - doing his thing. And also KEEP THE FIRE ALIVE is actually kind of a mix of his two songs. First part is called ALIVE and the second one is FLAME. Thank you for checking out his songs again. Hopefully you can check out WATERFALL performance film next time and other B.I stuff again. The Waterfall album hits so hard when you know everything he's been through. One mistake as a teen sent him into a dark place, which helped in the creation of Waterfall. He's been a trainee since a child, went through two survival shows, carried so much on his shoulders as the leader of his group while he was still a child. As well as being the main writer of almost all their songs. Then, at the height of his career, a foolish mistake as a teen got exposed, and he lost everything he worked so hard for. He had to start all over by himself. He's so talented and deserves so much more hype.

I still cry when i hear illa illa even tho it's been years literally, this man is everything, heia comfort place to many of us and i'm not syaing this cuz a lot of kpop fans say it but i mean it too saying it is easy , but he really is a comfort place ID's and ikonics will understand me❤

That's why we call Hanbin a lyrical genius because he truly is. He is so poetic with his lyrics and it's just so personal that people can relate. B.I loves his fans so much that he likes making a fan songs like rebirth, cosmos and especially when he was still with his group i'm okay, for you, m u p(make you proud), long time no see, wait for me. The man just has so much depth and love for music. We ID's are truly grateful that we stan the right man because eventhough haters been putting him down but he just got too much passion for his craft. He is so brave. All of his songs were just masterpiece, and the crazier part is everything were created by him, from the lyrics, melody, singing and dancing. This Mr. Perfect Ten!! You should try listen to his bright song such as COSMOS, MIDDLE WITH YOU & MICHELANGELO... I assure you gonna smile while watching it^^

Hanbin is so freaking incredible when it comes to writing poetic lyrics - and what hits even harder is that most of these songs (except Loved) is about himself and his own true story. He actually had the line "Waterfall that starts with falling down - that's me!" in his SMTM3 rap, as his last chance to stand strong after all hate and mistakes and prove himself. And then 7 years later he returned with Waterfall (and illa illa) as another proof of his undying will and strength - when so many fans were afraid he'll never return to making music again (and he did have such thoughts). The entire Waterfall album is like his diary of that era, you should listen to the full album with lyrics, I consider it a masterpiece. He's a master of sad love and break up songs, of course, but his personal songs are something else :D Anyway, loved your reaction and thoughts!

I love B.I. He always has a song that resonates with my heart. When he makes songs, I always feel satisfied at the end of his songs. Like the feeling of having a long conversation with a close friend.

To really get these lyrics and songs I suggest doing a little digging into his story and history and then a lot of these lyrics will make a lot more sense because the stuff he's been through and still has to deal with now in the industry is really what most of these songs are about.

every time i listen to Loved i have the same reaction, it is never enough!!! loved is one of my top favourite songs ever. i am so glad you're giving him more reactions!!! i really wish i could hug him and tell him he's doing a good job, because i really feel like he undersells himself. don't be upset about not knowing about him; he got blacklisted in the industry due to the scandal and has had to fight tooth and nail to get to where he's at now. he also never participates in comeback stages and rarely attends award shows; there are too many people (not idols but the people who run things) in the industry who would love to see him fail. he is a *massive* introvert. he does not like being social and i think everything with the scandal and his old band members being turned against him by his old company, he no longer trusts anyone. it's hard to know about him unless someone takes the time to introduce you. he's got a surer footing now but it used to be you never stumbled across any footage of him or even news of him. not on social media, not anywhere. you had to actively seek him out. so don't beat yourself up!! ❤ i think what i love the most about Illa Illa is how he was like "yeah, i'm back and i'm not leaving". because up until that point i feel like there was still a chance he might still walk away from everything - his career, life maybe, who knows. but then he got to this place where he decided he wanted to stay - he reached a place of peace with himself and managed to put that into his song. i also love that he talks about the beach at the end of his sleeves, like his tears are so salty and so many they created an ocean, but there is beauty there too. this is a soloist from B.I's company, Leo. Leo got screwed over by the company he was originally supposed to debut with, but B.I took him under his wing.
