As a lover of production glassblowing, I appreciate this post. It may be quick and dirty, but with practice , I bet this technique can make a pretty good bubbler. I will definitely try this! Thanks Scott Rogers!

This is great! For an up coming newbie these videos are great for helping me create my own idea's for making glass bubblers! Also a resident of Humboldt County, Arcata c: If you ever are around the Arcata area I would love to swing by and watch some sweet glass blowing be done!

Omegaangel I think you misunderstand the most basic concept of art that being its not what you use it's what you make. This gentleman is taking time out of his day to share knowledge that some value highly. In this video he does an outstanding job of explaining a very difficult concept for most novices. That being the amount of heat needed to condense glass properly and how one needs to be right on the edge of losing control without losing control. There are a lot of amazing talented artists

what type of torch is that that your using?
@mindstorm4712 жыл бұрын
GTT torches arent exactly easy to just start using, nor are they very cheap. Most Lampworkers either learn from a great deal of experience, or go to College or University to study Lampworking for years.I for one have been offered to work as a scientific lathe worker in several universities, a highly respectable career I might add. Even if he did make a crack pipe, id like to see some of you folks make one after spending the time and money setting up shop.youre lucky this nice man is showing this

beer bottles are made from soft glass, for most lampworking you wanna be using borosilicate glass. So it doesn't crack during cooling/heating.

Hi, Just a question a little bit of topic here. Would anybody be familiar how small rectangular hollow glass forms are made for jewelry applications. I'm figuring the way to go about this is to purchase rectangular tubing from a company like VitroCom, cut the tubing to the desired length then cap each ends using some sort of lamp working technique - I am not familiar with- to get a symmetrical hollow rectangle. How is rectangular tubing made? I am new to lamp working and unfortunately I can't find any videos out there were artisans are actually working with rectangular tubing. Really hope somebody can help!
@captainTubes8 жыл бұрын
I know it's 2 years later but a small bulb can be blown out into a square graphite mold, likewise a long tube can be heated in a kiln and inflated like a balloon into a long square sectioned graphite mold.

that began their careers as pipers. Bearclaw,Banjo,Snic,and Scott Deppe just to name a few. Look at what they make and try and tell someone it's not art. Sounds like you are jealous that the boro pipe movement is the biggest thing happening in art now and possibly ever with maybe the exception of graffiti but hey you probably don't think that's art either. Scott you are the man and I thank you for helping myself and many others. Peace

your a real artist. "making bank" is your top priority and you cannot respect anyone elses opinion without putting your self above them. Say its a waste of 100$ buying a bong? I have nothing against spending money on art but atleast buying a bong has function to it. If your so anti-cannibis, just avoid it. Don't go out of your way to preach about what a wonderful human being you are for staying unneducated.
