Great vid. You answered some questions I didn't even know I had! I've only made a couple of small 104 marbles, but right away, I see I wasn't using the molds to their full potential. And your preparation of the maria, as well as horizontal marvering as you did the implosion was like, aha! I've only seen implosions held straight down to the marver. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this video. I am just starting into glass bead creation and saw some marbles at a glass shop. You are such an amazing artist!

You glass artists drive me crazy not showing the completed project!
@danielbourgeois38689 жыл бұрын
not an expert, but, jeremy trusty when it's red glowing hot you have to get it cooler b4 you put it in the kiln because the glass is still moving, if you put it in the kiln at that point it will warp. Jtrjules, 1) I think it was to remove excess glass and also to give the flower more depth 2) the poking was what created that ribbed look the flower has

Awesome. Makes me wanna learn how to make things out of glass!

Gorgeous! Am I right to assume it takes very even heating of your bead in order to keep your implosion design even throughout the glass?

Are you using concentrator? If so would i be able to use just one 10lpm concentrator for a mega minor torch?

I have a million questions but I'll only ask two: 1) at around 6:40 or so, he gathers up a bunch of glass.....was he making the marble smaller? or was this to stretch the shape of the flower? 2) an at around 4:35, he pokes the glass with the awl...what was the purpose of that...at the end I couldn't really see how it changed the implosion.

Always thought these were done on tubing. Live and learn.

Different implosion styles are done on different things. There are totally implosions made from tubing.

@BeachRumminbummin7 жыл бұрын
buy the equipment and mess with it. you can find places here and there to learn at, but you don't really learn until you can spend hours messing up perfectly good glass
@BeachRumminbummin7 жыл бұрын
oh and you can learn this skill right here, youtube. your welcome

So the cooling can be a slow and controlled. If it cools too quickly there will be thermal shock and it would likely crack. The process is called "annealing".

wow, and i was attempting to be constructive critical.i'll take it as a challenge, give me a couple weeks an i'll gladly post a vid. showing more than one way to make a implosion. and as far as all the threats are concerned, i'm sure the flow would be very happy w/ your professionalism. never the less i live in grand junction co. please come attempt to feed me my torch any time.

Next time show the finished product, seriously
@edgelordofthedepths456210 жыл бұрын
ive seen people blow on it like you did isn't that bad? i mean the point of annealing a peace is to let it cool slowly so it does not break and your blowing on your peace lol
@yoshihakubi35849 жыл бұрын
if you place it in the kiln to hot it could slump
@redneckhippiefreak9 жыл бұрын
Disappointing. I was expecting to see the final piece. Not a pink glowing flower but the true colors.

not impressed. all that equipment, and that was supposed to be a flower. wish i had a gtt and three or four marble molds. dots of alternating color make for a much more realistic pedal appearance, plus you should chose colors that have a similar "stiffness" or accept heat in a similar manner, so it slumps at the same rate helping to keep everything even. not to say the colors of dissimilar can not be used together, but.......... not enough characters. anyone interested pleases comment or e-mail.
