Passage is really a new type of shop. Perhaps only in Japan. In the US there are antique shops that rent out shelves or cabinets, but I’ve never seen such a bookstore except these in Japan in the last few years.

In Japan, this type of bookstore is increasing little by little. Amazon can analyze a customer's personality, but I don't think Amazon can propose its own personality to the customer. In this type of bookstore, you can enjoy the personality of various shopkeepers. I would like you to experience it once.

@@L-Rimbaud I’ve seen examples on NHK but imagine the pleasure is finding the connection with your own recommender and discovering ‘new’ writers. I used to volunteer in bookstore co-op and we had more ways of showing member tastes in displays, but I think this idea might be unique in Japan.
