B&O GP 30 Unboxing and Run 4K

I'm unboxing and running a new Lionel TMCC Baltimore & Ohio GP30 diesel locomotive. This is my first Lionel TMCC diesel and I'm excited to add it to the roster. Watch in 4K to see the all of the awesome detail of this great model train. You will also get to ride along the now completed inner loop of my Harpers Ferry layout.

Love it! The B&O ‘sunrise’ (didn’t know that’s what it’s called) is much more unique compared to the ubiquitous tiger stripes. That passing diesel with its horn blowing was awesome. Also, you’ve got a Mr. Rodgers vibe going on . . . in a good way . . . so calming 👍 Thanks for sharing!

The color scheme is actually called "sunburst". Used for a few years in early-mid 1960's.

You've chosen my very favorite locomotive and for all the same reasons... save one. I hate traction tires and these TMCC GP30s are designed for easy wheel & axle change-out, plus Lionel still stocks the parts. Being a retired railroader, I kill the cab lights and add Kadees, too. Great engines! Congratulations!

Twisted, I go back and forth between steam and diesels. I love steam for the fact that they are like models of dinosaurs. You just don't see them running anymore (except for restored). Early diesels came in lots of different styles. The unit is great and I would've paid MSRP for it as well. Those are hard to come by these days. The GP30 is my 3rd favorite diesel. Also, really nice progress on the layout. Keep it coming.

I have a couple of those engines , the only bad design is the door you have to remove to change the battery .
