Well GG, don’t be that sad. Our mainland Chinese passport neither provides you with great travel convenience nor provides you with adequate consular assistance in case of emergency (like Covid). Both us, Aussies and Kiwis had problems coming home due Covid, but their inconvenience solved after around 2 years but there is no end in sight for us. No need to mention Aussie and Kiwi passports provide you with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to almost all countries that worth visiting.

I feel so related :( I can't believe someone had the same story like me.. I got a month visa to India with my HK passport then my plan was to get out of the country and enter again. Therefore I flied to Nepal and went to the embassy of India, had an interview and waited for 3 weeks. I also got food poisoning in Kathmandu and couldn't leave the bed for a week. At the end they rejected my visa due to political issue between China and India. I was so broken and booked my flight to Hong Kong, but then my flights were cancelled 2 times in a week. There's no explanation what happened to me. So I went to Israel for 2 months and I just booked another flight to Hong Kong next month. Finger crossed I can fly after almost 2 years to Home Kong! There's a saying in Hebrew: all for the best. If something in the world blocks your direction, maybe there is another way to reach your family. Good luck GG!

We have a community to exchange info in India, not a single Israeli was rejected to enter again (not talking about how many other nationalities doing the same). Unfortunately it's more than just U-turns, there was news about India suspends all the Chinese nationals after 2 days my visa was rejected.

I did not have a problem going to India with a Chinese passport many years ago, but maybe now the policy changed, so it is India's problem, not China's. Israel is my second home too and believe me there are tons of Israelis who got into trouble in India, maybe not visa, but drug or other problems (I am fluent in Hebrew and encountered quite a few Israelis during my very short trip).

@@smallfish01 呃，怎麼說吧，中國大陸護照不好用還真不是政府什麼到處點火。主要是非法移民和中國基本不給別的國家免簽。中國也不是發達國家，所以不給別人免簽的情況下誰給你免簽，而且中國人的非法移民著名程度哪個國家敢輕易給免簽。政府行為有一定因素，更主要的是上面說的那些。看你如果是台灣人可能確實已經不太知道辦簽證的事情了。中國辦簽證就是一線二線戶口地區很好b1美簽（福州泉州除外）。辦完美簽基本上申根就下來了，這樣操作一下護照才算說走就走。

Don't be sad, Georgie. When are you getting your HKPR? After getting your HKPR, you can apply for HK passport. However, you have to give up your SA citizenship as obtaining a HKSAR passport is technically applying for a Chinese Citizenship. Unlike obtaining the permanent residency, you might have a higher chance to be rejected by the immigration if you apply for a Chiense CItizenship. It is better to find an immigration consultant if you would like to do so.

You are wrong dude. You know nothing about the Chinese Nationality Law. Anyone who resides legally in HKSAR of China can apply for permanent residency, no matter whether you studied here for 7 yrs or worked here for 7 yrs. However, even if you hold an HKSAR permanent resident card, you are not eligible to apply for HKSAR Chinese Passport. The only HK residents who can also be Chinese citizens and get the HKSAR Chinese passport are those who are also ethnically Chinese. Please refer to the Chinese Nationality Law for further explanation. Note, in HKSAR there are Indian and Pakistani, they are permanent residents of HKSAR but they do not have the Chinese passport.

@@danieldai7389 some Indian pakistani can obtain Chinese citizen (HK passport), but the chance is less than 1/10… and sport players who represent Hong Kong can obtain Hk passport easily… it seems the immigration department is looking at their wealth or contribution over their race…

They don’t care about the race of how many generations have they stayed.. they just care about how much money they have got if they don’t have Chinese blood

@@ambrosecho8235 extremely rare, might works for some top players or elites, but very impractical for ordinary indian pakistani people to obtain Chinese citizenship. Although it is HKSAR Chinese passport, different to mainland passport, it still runs under the country's nationality law framework. In short, this foreign ethinicity group people can become Hong Kong city's resident, but usually cannot become Chinese citizen which Hong Kong belongs to.
