Thanks for sharing this, sad though it is to see it like this. I was there '74 to '78. Happy days they were.

Oh my, this brought back a flood of memories. Was there from '79 to '84. French (Mr & Mrs Carter), Geology (Mrs Williams), Biology (Mr Jenkins), Maths (Mr Lloyd), Physics (Mr Lawrence/Mr Whiting), Art (Mr Hersey), Chemistry (Mr Potterton) and English with my form tutor (Mr Madden). Mr Elmer was running the gaff. Shocking to see it like this. Would be nice to know if any of them are still with us. Thanks for posting this.

Thank you for this video, it is really important to me and I keep it downloaded on my phone in case it ever disappears. I was in class 1L to 5L 1983-1988. I lived in Rock Ferry but now live in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I remember so much about this pace, still dream of it. It was a hard school but I remember it fondly. It's sad to see it go and I brought my Canadian daughter back here a few years ago and felt quite emotional about it. I had a wonderful teacher called Brian Lloyd. He night never know the impact he had on me. Wishing everyone I knew there the best.

I remember learning German in Highfield building back in the 80's with Mr Wilkins. This is terribly sad footage but thankyou for filming this. It was a great school.

There from 76 - 82. Had latin in Ravenwood with Joe Soap. So called because he used to foam at the mouth when he was disciplining you by banging your head against the central heating pipes. A noise which could be heard in the classroom above / below. Happy days.

I was a student there between 1969-76. Ravenswood House was one of four properties on school land which originally served as the homes of prosperous merchants - the others were Bedford, Highfield and Stoneleigh. Only Stoneleigh was still standing during my time - a creepy looking building, looking much like the house in 'The Haunting' and with the atmosphere of Borley Rectory. Sad to see the school in such a state of dereliction. It was ultimately demolished, while Ravenswood later met the predictable fate of all notable empty buildings in Wirral, at the hands of arsonists.
