I was very hesitant about ordering mine, but did it anyway. I ordered a hoody and a pair of sweatpants in the same material. I couldn't be happier. I've had them about 2 weeks. It's been in the 40s during the day and mid-30s after the sun goes out (I work a noon to 10 pm shift). Normally, in these temps I wear a "regular" (cheap) hoody under a Filson single Mac. I haven't needed the wool yet. A dozen pockets lets me organize my stuff better. I can't compare it to any other technical hoodies, but this is the best hoody I've ever owned, and will probably order a second one. The sweats are not as feature packed, but they're extremely comfortable indoors and out. For me, this was a great purchase.

the Carhart Loose Fit Heavy Weight Full Zip Rain Defender with the Polyester Fleece lining is the best hoodie ever made. It's only 60 bucks and it blows the Baerskin right out of the water. There is no comparison. Try a Carhart Loose Fit Rain Defender Hoodie and you will never even consider any other brand. It's not only comfortable, it's also durable and could last for close to a decade. Carhart jackets are Affordable, Durable, Warm and Comfortable. I have 4 kinds of Carharts hanging in my closet. All of them are over 5 years old and still as good as new or close to it.

Had mine for a week. So far I spot-on agree with you, Mr Sponsored, especially re the zip. I dunno about the zips you’re talking about but I thought I was going to have to go through all that palaver of having to return mine cos of its almost-inoperative main zip. Graphite and 5 mins of fiddling at least got it going/zipping but it certainly feels pretty poor-quality (and fiddly). It even drove me as far as Googling ‘zip-lubricants’! And I also agree about the adjustability of the hood. On my biggish head it feels FAR too big, so it feels - and IS - windy INSIDE! And yes, it's adjusting toggles are pretty fiddly too, too fiddly I'd say, especially outside on a nasty day. So, as with you ... I’ll see. Yes, it’s certainly warm and certainly ‘pockety’ but the feel of its zip has rather undermined my confidence for this hoodie’s future. A pity if that's how it turns out. PS. I’d have liked a proper ‘dedicated’ phone-pocket too. I’m right handed so on the left side, ideally outside but ok inside but properly big enough for modern phones and, essentially, with top zip (or and better, Velcro on a nasty day) entry so the phone can’t fall out. I find the existing pockets there are too small and their all-the-way-down side-openings/zips a lot too ‘dangerous’ for a phone.

Me too Mr Sponsored. Today it happens to be blowing a Westerly GALE in Highland Scotland - the worst so far this winter-of-storms and today's gale proves that it's not QUITE as windproof as I'd supposed. But that is a bit unfair on it - I'll agree that I should have a properly wind-proof outer-layer on top. But it sure does blow the too-big hood to b*ggery while I'm fiddling about with those toggles! @@RedBranchBushcraft

So Wooly ... an update from my initial (and so-innocent!) comment of 2 months ago:- Yes, I fell for a Baerskin 3.0 and I now increasingly feel like a TWAT for having fallen for the sheer ONSLAUGHT of Baerskin-hype. Now 2 months the wiser and after 2 months of TRYING to love it, I would say:- 1. Yes, the Baerskin 3.0 is certainly very comfy (if bulky) indoors: but then ... 2. Outdoors, for me it's turning out to be one of life's little 'disasters'. Unlike my faithful old North Face and Berghaus fleeces it's not nearly windproof-enough and, and worse, quite-unlike them it's not-even-REMOTELY waterproof. This means that in my two European climates you almost-always need a wind-&/or-water-proof outer-layer on top - by which time it's all getting VERY bulky, cumbersome and inconvenient. And of course you then have to have an outer shell big enough to take a 3.0 - which my much-loved old Gortex isn’t. What do Baerskin expect? Me to buy a new outer-layer big enough to accommodate their advertising hype? No Sir! 3. I spend my time in both wet, drizzly and coldish Highland Scotland & also in dry but often equally-cold-in-winter and quite-often VERY windy Southern France with the famously-cold Mistral howling down off the Alps. Quite unlike my two trusty old fleeces, for wet drizzly climates the Baerskin 3.0 is in reality a SPONGE and if it ever does get wet it can soon feel like a soggy dead sheep round one's neck. For reliably-DRY and not-too-windy places (like the South of France when the Mistral isn’t blowing) it's not THAT far-off being as good as my old North Face and Berghaus fleeces still are outdoors IF (and only if) you can live with its sheer bulk but .... 4. No matter where you are the thickness and fluffiness of its fleece may well be comfy (as well as bulky) but, and VERY unlike my old fleeces, it's completely impractical for anywhere dirty or dusty (inc. sawdust etc). So it's useless for many outside jobs - and, for the same reason, also useless in the workshop or the garage (or the kitchen!) indoors. And then there's also the still-"mad" cold-&-uncomfy hood-size, the poor quality zips and draw-strings, the no-good-for-cell-phones side-zip pockets ... should I go on? 5. I read a review by one entirely-happy customer who said he'd bought two Baerskin 3s, one to wear around the house by day, another to wear in bed at night. That sounds about right to me! 6. So as I say, the Baerskin 3.0 has increasingly left me feeling like a TWAT, and after 2+ months of trying to grow to "love it", a TOTAL TWAT for having fallen for the hype about it. (As a final thumbs-down 👎🖕👎 I did offer mine to one of my teen-age nephews. "F-off" was the not-unreasonable and surely-sensible answer.)

@@RedBranchBushcraft You’re not the only one Wooly - I was full of hope! Have you got any suggestions of what to replace the bl**dy thing with? I rather imagine wool but it MUST be: 1. Entirely practical in outdoors Scotland for hours of walking/working/farming/foresting So … 2. Pretty windproof and the more non-soggy shower/waterproof the better. 3. A hood sounded nice but isn’t essential - hats/bonnets may simply be better/more practical? 4. A “safe” exterior (so easy to get-to) phone-pocket wd be useful - even after a couple of months I got confused-and-frustrated/annoyed over what I’d put in which pocket in the Bearskin! Thanks.

Yours is entirely different from mine. I consider my BaerSkin Hoodie THE WORST GARMENT PURCHASE I'VE EVER MADE. I bought the hoodie in 3X and the body fits fine. But the arms are made for some pencil man, they are stretched tight from my wrists to my shoulders so I can't wear it over a long sleeve shirt. Yet, yours and other reviews, you have baggy arms on your jacket. And the hood on mine is apparently made for a 50X hoodie as it hangs all the way over my head down to my chin. No adjustment on the back of the hoodie to adjust how far over your head it goes and mine seriously completely comes down to the bottom of my chin, rendering the hoodie unwearable for me. Yours is entirely different fitting from the one I got! I get NO RESPONSE from their customer service. And from what I've heard from others, returning it is impossible as you will pay more to ship it back to China than you paid for the hoodie and then they still might not refund your money.

If they spent as much on design as they did on advertising the product would be completely different. They are a baggy mess of material. Just buy a northface or some other brand name.
