My dad was a scout master with 75 kids in his troop. He went to the local surplus canvas store and made 20 of these and the patrol boxes. He was a DI in the marine corps. We would roll in to camp and set them up in several configuration. Quads of three for each patrol or long lines overlapping the tops. It was a sight to see it set up for camp. Loved that tent and the treated smell

I really like the knife, and it would surely be a fine option in a pinch. But I just think you're wasting WAY too much energy hacking at that tree, vs a good axe or folding saw. Imagine having to piece that thing out with the knife after you got it down? 😵💫 I do realize this was more of a punishment test, and it's amazing there. I was just more addressing the All-In-One Tool thing...gimme that knife but I want an axe, as well. 👍

@Red Branch Bushcraft Wondering how to best deal with correct ventilation in the tarp. If I pitch everything down using the nooses of the tarp itself, I think it comes to close to the bottom with no sufficient room for ventilation. Is it recommended to add strings to the nooses to allow for extra room? And how to keep it rain proof. Anyhow, what would be the way to go?

Sword? I suppose if you are not allowed to carry a knife of that size you might think so. I personally think a knife that size is perfectly suited for EDC. Anyone else out there EDC large blades? Or am I literally the ONLY person on the planet that EDC’s a 9” blade? 🤷🏻♂️

It doesn't fit the definition of a "zombie knife" so should be legal to own (not to carry). Post office won't carry it though, so they don't ship to UK.

@RedBranchBushcraft Being able to get a Skrama is certainly a benefit of living in Ireland. I spent the afternoon applying mine to a laurel branch about the same thickness as your tree. Storm Daragh brought it down. Could have used a saw, but the Skrama was more fun and likely easier on wet green wood.

Its a amazing freaking knife. I got it and never thought about getting any other big choppers knives after this one. The two handle option for gripping changes the whole game what a chopper needs to be. Creating a higher inertia. And know other guy created Jessica x. But those are the only two i know with this thought.

I applaud your tenacity! But you should teach yourself to swing the knife with your other hand! Less tiring and a good skill to have in an emergency! Easy for me to say, since I am ambidextrous and was tought by my father to always exercise both sides!
