Ô Maître Checain ! Vous nous manquez énormément. Cette voix que vous avez, m'emballe terriblement, et me fait perdre la tête. Je ne comprends ce que vous chantez, cela me donne des frissons, cela me rappelle mes 23 ans. Merci MAÎTRE FRANCO ET VOTRE OK JAZZ ! Reposez en PAIX. Merci SAM MANGWANA, d'associer votre voix à celle de CHECAIN !

Mangwana and Lola are one of the best duo's of all time in OK Jazz. Usually Lola Checain in supportive voice, and I think their last song in duo is "faute ya commerçant" de Simaro Lutumba. RIP Lola Checain

Checain remains my favorite composer in OK after F.Luambo. Better than Lutumba higher than Ntesa or Josky. Especially of his songs soloed by Sam Mangwana. This is another such masterpiece. Thank You for uploading.

I remember when I was very young I had started my secondary school in 1972.Our elders were pushing us out because this music was only for the elder to dance the SLOW rhythm.

@thumanina More than anything, this had to do with the quality of the studio. These songs were converted directly from good quality pressings. This studio (with special extra echoes) was used by Franco in the years 1972-1974 especially. So better get used to it because he made many of his best records in these years!!

BSK was the first song performed by Luambo at Amaan Stadium in 1973 using wireless microphone! Then somebody announced in congolese accent Waseteni taa Mzee Madevu hayuko katika stage yuko wapi? He was among spectators shaking hands with them while continuing singing with the wireless microphone IT WAS MAVERLLOUS..!

I love listening the duo, and I think they were the best Duo, every single songs they had together were a success. I had the impression that Lola was the best supportive for Mangwana. But was greatly surprised when Mangwana admitted he was supportive of Lola Checain's becàuse no one wanted/couldn't sing with Lola.

This is one of the greatest songs ever from Africa. The vocals and instruments were played to the full by people who were sure of themselves. TPOK was made up of individuals who were each very strong in whatever he was playing, very strong! I wish to get (buy) a copy of the studio version of this song (not live recording).

What??? The sound wasn't so good? Please!!! This was in the early seventies, 20th century, if you wish...this was the best of the best at that time, I truly wish you knew how different things were then, you would totally appreciate this music
