The next step for Uta is to be able to beat heavier opponents which she was unable to do at Tokyo. Currently that's what set Clarisse in a class on her own, she was so dominating that even the olympic champion of the heavier category couldn't do anything against her. In a pound for pound ranking, Clarisse would come first among females with Uta a good second. However let's not forget that Clarisse reached her prime in her late twenties and was not always so dominating -although always promising. If Abe keeps improving the way she does, we might as well get the duel with Bilodid (in a team event) in spite of the weightclass - although Bilodid is far from the best of her new class (unlike Arai who was the best -70kg). It's really ashamed they removed the open competition, great champions like Clarisse could have done great there.

Abe looks so much wider than all the other ladies. Strong base and constantly in their face. Hard to win when you are constantly on the back foot trying to survive and not trying to counter. Just pure domination

I think she had surgery on both her shoulders didn't she? That's pretty worrying, given that she is just turned 20 (not worrying for her, but for me and other older judoka...) sode is one of my favorites as well...
