Despite which horn people actually think sounds better, this is a phenomenal driver behind those horns- and that's all that really counts anyways!!

The Nirschel has more weight to the sound but I must say the Melton sounds better to my ear. Both sound great in their own ways.

I don’t think either horn sounds bad. But I just love the Nirschl

I think the Melton would sound better in an orchestral setting than the Nirschl. The American style BATs, in my opinion, are better suited for wind band use. The smaller bell rotary BATs just have more harmonic content that will make it to the back of the hall, which is essential for the modern orchestral tubist.

As always: C tuba more detail less fat sound (easier for soft passages). B flat less detail, more bass sound. I prefer C tuba and F tuba in symphonic setting. But both sound great only different...

Iprefer more rounded sounds like wider not so punchy. So no surprise I´m voting Nirschl. :)

The F# is a little sharp on the Melton. A slide should have been pulled. But the tone of the Melton is better.
