Acacia No Ame Ga Yamutoki is the tune I will forever associate with this man. He even plays it in the middle of this improvisation!

@@dazr0via Is not. The tune is called Acacia No Ame Ga Yamutoki, and Abe always plays it and stretch it until becomes unrecognizable; he probably loved that melody. For example, the first account of this melody in Abe catalogue is on the second track from the Abe/Yamazaki duo from January 1971: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3uvY6ltmJlshZI Then he plays it on the Tohoku University tour late 1971 using now the bass clarinet: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp26dJ-epLl2Y5I And there are 2 more versions (with Alto Sax) of that deformed tune on the Complete Tohoku Sessions that was released in 2020. And on this solo date from 1972, he quotes that tune again on the 3rd improvisation around the 10 minute mark: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5bEep6saqqle5o It is Acacia No Ame Ga Yamutoki.

@@dazr0via I'm curious how you listen the Black Gipsy on that minute? Sounds nothing alike. Please, just listen the 1:51 - 2:20 min on the video of Abe/Yamazaki I provided above. It's the Acacia No Ame Ga Yamutoki melody, at a frenzied pace but the same melody. If you have ears, you will easily notice.
