I think I was a bit late to hear this very interesting and educational discussions. The discussion was quite interesting to me that I did watch and carefully listen to both the presentations (Part 1 & 2) made by the persons- Muligeta and Eyasped, and also to the opinions and questions raised by the people on the floor. After watching the debate and the questions/suggestions/opinions given from the young people on the floor, I felt that Ethiopia does indeed has young brilliant people who will be its asset to resolve the chaos that the Ethiopian peoples found themselves for so long both in the past and in the present. Having said that, allow me to express myself how I perceived both speakers- Muligeta and Eyasped: - Eyasped: Your presentation was very very educational for the Ethiopians and relevant to the purpose of the discussion! Your research, on the technical terms, your knowledge about the subject at the hand from the standpoint of the history of Abyssinia and modern Ethiopia, your courage to address straightforward some of the subjects most people seem to sideway or avoid at all, and the intelligence you demonstrated in handling Muligeta's emotional attacks, even his upset, did testify your true intelligence, sir! So, I feel I would like to say: Thank you for the hard work, the courage and the intelligence you have demonstrated in this discussion. Young brilliant people like you in the country are certainly the asset for Ethiopians to deal with the challenges they found themselves in and adopt a better future for them as a nation. Keep it up!! - Muligeta: I have no problem to hear whatever an individual believes in and express it out. But the problem is that how one expresses his/her point of views and how one treats other peoples' points of views. Does one control his own emotion, understand that his/her own opinions are not absolute, meaning other options/ways may exist, may be addressed by other people, etc.? So, what I observed in Muligeta's presentation was that at the very outset he started his speech not only by attacking Eyasped's points of view but also with a sense of upset. It was so obvious that the person leading the discussion rebuked him. Right? So, Muligeta's incompetency to present something relevant for the purpose of the discussion is evidenced right there! There are a number of other shortcomings he does not seem to understand them in himself. For examples: there is a clear evidence of a constant self-assertion in his speeches, amplifying his own opinions and point of views while trying to belittle the opinions/knowledge or authorities of the others. In the ancient Eastern wisdom, it is said that, "one who is absolutely confident in his opinion/knowledge is a dead man!". Obviously, it does not mean at a physical level. Also, he seems to value too much feelings, which is part of emotional manifestations. He also seems to have difficulties to accept facts as they are, and tries to deny and instead imposes on others forcefully what he thinks is "right" without providing convincing reasons. So, I would like to remind Muligeta (Dr.) what people who have learned life long from life experiences say, which goes like this: 'Arrogance exists where there is self-ignorance while intelligence exists where there is humility.' It implies then that, a thorough self-understanding may not be attainable as the result of higher education at school; much more than that. In fact, most people who operate only at intellectual level are not intelligent but arrogant! Can that explain anything to Muligeta? Otherwise, I really feel that such a discussion is very necessary for the Ethiopians and need to be encouraged to continue even at a wider scale than it is now, because understanding the root cause of their problem, which is mainly political is critical for only then the willing to do something differently can happen. Keep it up! In closing, I would like to leave one question for Eyasped if I may: King Haile Selessie wasn't from Abyssinia as you know. Why then he embraced the Amharization/Abyssiniazation of the rest of the modern Ethiopian regions? Was there a higher authority (a decision-making group, if you will) behind him? If so, who are they, and was it applicable to the kings/Ras prior to Haile Selessie as well? Thank you.
I think this is great debate!! all debates should lead to a better future! which means it should indicate the way out!! it should not focus on playing with peoples emotion!!!

I liked Eyasped, he is real Intellectual. I liked the second presenter as well, for the first time in history, he admitted that Ethiopia was contracted by oppressing and suppressing some nations.
Thank you , Eyasped. You have shown what knowledge-based discussions should be like. Though I am on the other side, it’s shameful that almost all of them use intimidation and masking instead of using principles and evidence. That’s why we will never win. By the way, this uneducated man should never be here.

My main complaint is that the exam was built around the Eurocentric, Stalinist, socialist nation-state question, which was supposed to be the panacea for all of Russia and her satellite republics' ills. Soviet Russia and Ethiopia were worlds apart politically, culturally, and ideologically. It was also important, before imposing an alien philosophy on Ethiopia, to gain an appreciation for the country's feudalistic and lagging manner of production.
@seifet.k.afrikano14152 жыл бұрын
not just the state, the nation, or the ethnic group, but also other ethnicities were repressed and assimilated over the all of Africa and the rest of the world.
Eyasped keep your lecture for classroom. Ethiopians are not ready to dismantle Ethiopia in order to reorganize arround your theory. Axumite empire survived through Ethiopia and Ethiopia will prevail. All the partispant should read about The SIRRARA merchants of the North. South, East and West in the 18th and 19th century.
Eyasped, when you mention Karamra as.your example it delebrately implies your divisive oratory is to undermine the unity of Somalia region. This discussion may help the political pundits by obeying such philosophy and theory as presented.

State building process has both positive and negative out comea, but on the way we all should accept both. Why you guys, under Ethiopianism shadow neglect those facts? Not even as nation, family to family dispute are resolved based on facts and amending by both side. This in fact much more wide and nationality matter to accept and make amendments to live together, that is the way we may have stong country
You see ,"especially, oromia should be rearranged to different and vast regions. If not, all ethiopian regions have to be rearranged " said. What does this political motives mean? Does any region asks the rearrangement of all regions or the fragmantation of Oromioa regional state other than those under the cover of Ethiopianism? And why only those 🤔
