The problem with B0aty's take around @2:28:00 regarding alts becoming more prevalent "meta"-wise is that at some point it's bound to affect the actual economy as well. No amount of realization that you don't need to play the meta is going to change that fact and at some point it isn't an issue of feeling compelled to follow the meta to simply be efficient anymore but because you will have to do it if you want to realistically buy stuff without breaking literal bank. At least in the context of using alts to make money this is a problem. When it comes to people using their alts for certain training methods (like slayer or chin stacking for barraging) it isn't that big a deal.
@DillionDillionDillionDillion2 жыл бұрын
Although I agree with you in principle, I think this is actually a non-issue, because of the prevalence of bots. No amount of having an alt 0-time kill some wyverns while my main skills is going to crash the price of uncut rubies

For DMM, do you think it would be possible to anonymise all player names, disable character personalisations and do auto world selections that persist on the character for a 6 hours (dont even allow hopping?), It would reduce the amount of trading etc by a massive amount, to the point where the players that are getting "fed" would be obvious to spot.

Hearing about Adam's experience, I recognise now that I had something similar with the weeping, but it was only on the sides of my neck and one side got infected which is when the weeping stuff started to happen. I left it for a while thinking it would get better and it didn't, doctors weren't the most helpful either often being turned away to give it more time. Eventually, was prescribed something to get rid of the infection and steroid cream to heal up the skin there, but that alone was genuinely so annoying to deal with and it sounds like Adam's describing that same experience except it's across his body which I can't even begin to imagine. That skin by my neck sometimes irritates slightly now and then still, but I've avoided using the steroid cream mostly out of my own negligence to do something but after hearing Adam's experience with them, it seems like I need to be careful about how and when I use it moving forward. b0aty brought me back to OSRS and I still remember the Uni streams and how much fun they were, dropping the rings of lifes at the death altar when he was playing peckishwhale and so much more 😌

Just wanted to point out that imo the tileman series is doing well because settled is a goat, the tile locked concept is a snore to me and i find it repulsive but I'll watch it because settled is just such an enjoyable guy. So in regards to the question from tasty, my input is just be yourself and do your thing, people (especially the slightly mature audience of runescape) gravitate toward the genuine qualities that a content creator might have and in a way might want to see their own best qualities in the content they watch, which could be anything but I think for the most part as long as the content isn't too forced and retains some element of the creator's passion and interest and not even necessarily just the positive elements but the character development in response to failure or trial, I think it will over time gain traction and be successful. I don't think at all that gimmick accounts like tileman or region locked are inherently successful, I think that we all just friggin love settled and would happily watch anything he put out, and that the gimmick accounts are just the edgy and over-the-top difficult and time consuming bullshit that settled loves to do, and we all kind of admire the perseverance the guy has while also shaking our heads a little. Just my 2 cents.
@KCromie2 жыл бұрын
Yeah tileman is rather boring, but Settled has a really good way of storytelling and presenting each episode like part of a movie. It's really compelling even if you don't really give a shit about it (like I don't, lol).

The way B0aty described his ideas for the potential of a Sailing skill, I don’t have any clue how that wouldn’t pass a poll…. Nex is complete garbage and so boring and we could have updates like that instead. The game community needs to get with the program and ask for that because it sounds PERFECT. Almost like Construction/Slayer combined with a twist because I’m assuming you’d have to build the boats.

When Adam brought up that it took him 7 hours without plugins but once he turned it on it became fantastic, that just goes to show (imo) that jagex needs to take these plugins seriously and take preventative steps sooner than later because developing content essentialy around 3rd party plugins is not ideal and should never become the norm.
