Thank you for this comment! It is hexose (6 carbon) NOT pentose (5 carbon. In the video I misspoke and said pentose!

TEACHERS: Unfortunately, there is a segment that our school has determined is inappropriate to show to teenage students. You may want to skip over 22:15-23:06. I also removed the link on my web site for students to independently watch due to this segment. It's a shame that this part is included, and at the unnecessary length and emphasis that it is, because otherwise, this is a great video to use with high school students.
