@jsmolone No prob. The mod is the suspension link that connects the rear suspension pivot to the swingarm. The 1098 has an adjustable link so that you can raise or lower the ride height in the rear. The 848 just has a fixed dogbone there. I just found a used 1098 piece for around $60 but there are also aftermarket solutions. My goal was to lower the rear down not for touching the ground but moreso for rocking the riding position a little more upright. Not a huge change but a little.

you just look like a BOSSS riding that!!!

@jsmolone Hi, I'm the rider. I'm about 5ft 11 on a good morning and the tennis shoes are typical New Balance, so probably about a half to 3/4inch rise. I did put the 1098 rear link in and lower it all the way, but I'm not sure if that occured before or after this video. At your height, you will be fine. I was flat footing it all day before the link and the only reason I got it was to pull some weight off my wrists for longer rides (which this isn't really the best bike for).

Very true. The pinky is easy to break, so I'm thinking my next pair will be one that has the pinky sewn to the ring finger.

@dmargrave Hey man, thanks for the quick reply! That is good to hear, I never heard of that mod (bit of a noob!) but sounds interesting for like you say, longer journeys. I really got to make the trip to try both the 848 and 1089, great bikes and I love your example! thumbs up :)

Agreed re: termis. As soon as I bought my Ducati Monster, one week later i HAD to have Termis on it (slip on) though I was on a restricted license that would mean I'd soon sell the bike. My next bike, a 2005 Multistrada had full Termis on it Impressive tht u have a 1 piece & use it on the road mate.Even if I owned a pair, im not sure i cud be bothered for short trips! I do ALWAYS wear Dainese raceboots (and gloves) tho even with t-shirt

I agree man. I ALWAYS go full gear (in Norway we got cool weather, so I always wear my leathers. I even decided to buy a 1piece, so I wouldn't just use the jacket when going for short trips. Statistically boots and gloves (helmet obviously not included in stats) are the most important. I also would'nt put anything else btu Termi on my duc, but I think thats more of a european thing to do. I've seen Akrapovics on ducs, and they sound great! I think people should get to choose themselves ;)

So your problem is not with safety, but with style? And the choice of exhaust is pre-determined by you?

Nicely shot video, DSLR`s are great aren`t they?....Could you tell me how tall the rider is please? I am considering an 848 but it is such a long way to a showroom I am keen to find out if someone my height (6foot) would be ok on an 848, thanks in advance....

I dunno, it makes me feel way safer wearing it, also because of the weater. Have 70mm(2,7 inch) full exhaust on my 1198S. Sounds amazing. Love the new Multistrada. When I get older I prolly will go for a multi or a Monster. Yeah we never get t-shirt weather here, and I guess thats a good thing. Many of my friends ride without helmets as well, until they're hit by a bee or a bird one day.

@osbjmg lol after reading his whole comment I think he just has a problem with it looking stupid rather than the lack of protection lol. I've seen people complain about lack of protection when others don't wear gear. Never didnt I come across someone complaining about lack of gear because it doesn't match the riders outfit lmao.

It makes me sad to see riders every single day with out gloves on. Just means you havent fallen yet...which is good but take it from an expeirienced rider, its not if...its when..put some damn gloves on people! What do you put down first? Use some sense. Ride safe.

Why do Americans buy Ducatis and then dress so poorly? I'm not even talking about gloves as I'm sure he owns them but forwhatever weird reason chose not to wear them. I'm talking about race boots. Wearing trainers looks so $hit so why do it unless you're going to go full squid and do the t-shirt thing (nothing wrong w/ that, i do it too occasionally). Also not having Termis and some random brand of exhaust instead also not cool
