The usual suspects didn't give a single point to Cyprus: Latvia, Poland, Czech Rep, Hungary, Austria and Portugal. How many years this Countries ignore Cyprus? When it was the last time when this Countries vote for Cyprus in Grand Final ? Since 2004 maybe? And then they have problem because Greece jury give 12 points to Cyprus. The problem Is not only the Country who give every year points to a Country but and the Countries who never give a single point to a spesific Country. Its simple.Greece and cyprus have the same singers who have many fans in both countries.Maria Eleni Kiriakou,Ivi Adamou ,Hovig,Elefteria Eleftheriou,Sakis Rouvas have fanclubs in both countries.The musical tradition is the same,the language the same .Its just a nation divided in 2 countries.But Greece and Cyprus are only 2 countries.What about San (Marino,Malta ,Italy)(Ukraine,Russia,Belarus,Poland and ex soviet countries) (Sweden,Finland,Norway,Iceland,Denmark ) , (Romania,Moldova).Just because they are only 2 and it is more obvious you shouldnt overlook the fact that the Nordic countries or the Ex soviet do the same and they are numerous and they can change the results .

Juries have a better understanding of music, that's all. Televote rewards media hype and commercial meaningless songs as we've witness.

refreshyourself In the larger picture, juries also voted a lot more than the mob in the entries of Austria, Bulgaria, France and Estonia. And all of these were the high standard of the contest as i saw it.

Charlie Alf and fans responded more to entries like Italy, which imo were disgustingly underrated by the judges. I think we need both of the components in order to achieve a more balanced result, because both have their faults

refreshyourself Yes, we can agree on that. I don't like every choices of the juries. But what we read is a lot of people blaming the juries, when televote is a lot worse imo. My point is the best music is not, in most cases, the commercial pop hits. The industry and media create the trends for mass comsuption and this contest could be a creative showcase in diversity. In ESC 2018 we have had hard rock, classical, different sort of ethnic ballads, techno, dance disco music. However, Cyprus had the frame of the industrial shakira music. It almost won. Juries said 6th place and many didn't give it any point. Serbia, Estonia, Bulgaria, France received 12 points from some of them. Please save the juries.
